Remarks

The College Management need to re-think their decision of running this solo B.Tech program at some other Campus. This two-campus thing is always a mental block for the students residing in Saharanpur Campus.

Entrance Preview

I have prepared for IIT JEE from IIT JEE Bokaro Centre. I have got the rank 5421 in IIT JEE and I wanted to get a B.Tech degree from an IIT which made me choose Pulp and Paper over the other options I had.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The biggest disadvantage of the course is that it is run in the Saharanpur Campus of IIT Roorkee which is 50 km away from the Main Campus. The course is more or less the same as that of Chemical Engineering with 1-2 paper-based courses each semester. The campus though small is fun as you get to interact a lot with all your seniors quite frequently. I would say that it is the easiest course to get a B.Tech from IIT when compared to other courses which involve a lot of assignments and supervised submissions.

Internships Opportunities

I have got two interns. First was an online marketing based intern where I was more into SEO and stuff. I learned a lot about content marketing and other stuff. It was in Bangalore and was fun. My mentor was extremely supportive and helping me out. My second intern was a core intern which I haven't enjoyed that much as the condition of Indian Paper Mills currently is very pathetic. The smell of sulphur will keep o irritating you. If you are dreaming of a cozy air-conditioned office kind of setup then this is certainly not one of those.

Placement Experience

4

You get to sit in almost every company in which the other branches like Chemical, Metallurgy are eligible. Almost 80% of the IT companies and almost all consulting and e-commerce companies are open. Most of the people go to e-commerce, consulting, and IT sectors.

College Events

4

This is the interesting part. Being from a separate campus we get to celebrate 2 cultural fests. Thomso(Cultural fest) and Cognizance(Tech Fest) are the main fests of IIT Roorkee and are quite big. They are one of the largest fests in the country. We also celebrate a fest named Rhapsody in Saharanpur Campus which has about 1000 odd participation and is also a decent fest.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, 25% of the branch are eligible for Merit Cum Means Scholarship where you get a full waiver on tuition fees if your parent's income is less than 4.5 LPA. There is also a heritage award where you get about a 50k scholarship for being the best all-around student in that branch.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is about 7:1. It's an IIT of course. Life is very chilled and relaxed. If you are active then you get to learn alot. Extracurriculars are up to the individual and how much involved he can be. There are a lot of opportunities in drama, art, music, photography, debates, robotics, etc. The best part is you can even start a club of your own interest.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The Hostels are better than any of the hostels at the main Campus. The food is like every other mess food. You would get bored of the food after a while.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network is very extensive and is ever ready to help students. You can find people in the London School of Business, IIM's, and in top companies across the Globe.I would rate the Alumni Network to be good but still, there is a lot to be done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of its affordability and the teaching quality of this college is good . They helps in choosing the real life application based projects . Teaching methods are impressive but they don't provide notes . We have make notes by attending class regularly. Frequency and timings of exams are of 3 hrs. For each subject . Difficulty level is moderate and students can prepare it well in the gap days also .
