Remarks
I took admission to Zakir Husain Delhi College Evening in the year 2020 when the admission process was merit-based, that is, it was based on the result of the 12th board. The cut was quite high for the honors courses. For the BA program, it was comparatively low. Although for students who belong to the general category the percentage has to be above 85% to get into any course except for the language courses. The students from SC and ST can easily get admission with 70 % or below
Course Curriculum Overview
I enrolled myself in Ba Program English and History because I found both the subjects to be quite interesting. In Zakir Husain, there are excellent professors in the English department. Also, the number of professors is almost 8 to 10. Whereas for History the quality and quantity of the professors are not satisfactory. It is very easy to pass the examination. All you need is one month of proper preparation. You can pass the exam by referring to 10 years of help books.
Fees and Financial Aid
The structures of the BA Program are very reasonable. It is approximately around 6k. Sadly I have to say that there is no campus placement in Zakir Husain. Although the scholarship is available if you have an excellent academic history and required documents.
Campus Life
The crowd of the evening college is not very good. Zakir Husain has the oldest library in the Dzu circuit and hence you can find almost all the books you need in the library itself. Annual fests are conducted in the college although after the covid situation there hasn't been any fest on the campus to now. There are several societies like the eco club, debating society, NSS, NCC, and Arts and Cultural society which frequently organize events and provide students a platform to showcase their talents. There are a lot of extracurricular activities conducted in the college regularly
