Remarks

Overall my college is a complete stop for all kinds of students. Ideally I think the management should look into the infrastructure more and build hostels for the students in the campus.

Entrance Preview

I took a common entrance exam for English Honors conducted for Delhi University Colleges as I was keen in advancing my knowledge in literature field. I got a decent score in the exam and opted for a college in North Campus. Satyawati College is near to my place so I decided on this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

For all the undergraduate courses, we have 2 semester every year. So, in total we have 6 semesters for the complete program. The course is very mush divided and is easy to complete within the given time frame. Also, the assignments allowed us to do our extra research work and studying out of the course. Such as writing a detailed thesis on a particular writer.

Internships Opportunities

As I have not heard of any internship program for our course I cannot comment upon the same. But surely there must bee internship programs for other courses.

Placement Experience

2

Being a literature student I didn't came across any placement companies during my tenure. As for job opportunities, there was a scope of many companies that were in look for students freshly out of college. You have a great scope in publishing house, as editors, proofreaders, academic content writers or SEO writers.

College Events

2.5

There were many cultural activities like fest, workshops, counseling sessions, NCC campaigns, debates, sports programs, theater, plays and dance performances held by drama society, etc. We used to actively take part in all of these once in a while. Also the college fest used to be huge celebration and students use to give their contribution with participating in whichever way they can. Even sometimes helping with the organizers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee goes on yearly basis for our program and also an examination fee was levied while filling the examination form. There are also many scholarship programs that are there for the underprivileged students. Also certain concessions are given if you are high scorer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, our college provides scholarship for bright students and financial aid for less privileged students. The student just need to fill up a simple form and if approved can get help from the college funding.

Campus Life

3

My college had almost equal male and female students. Also the college parties were safe and comfortable for female students. All the crowd of students were properly mixed up and there was no trace of difference regarding any class or community. The cultural fest includes all the students from all classes without any kind of discrimination.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There was no facility of hostels in our college campus but many PG's and flats were available for students nearby that came from far away or other states. The accommodation process ranges from 4000 to 10,000 according to the facilities that you require. Also the market is very near to the college so one doesn't have to worry about the market connectivity.

Alumni/Alumna

On my first day of college I had an orientation session and also a detailed interaction with my seniors, they told us about the course, the teachers, exams and were even helpful with the notes and books.

Exam Structure

All undergraduate exams have a semester system and yearly you have to have to give 2 semesters. There is not much study load as the course is divided yearly. Also many class test are held that adds up to the assignment marks. These short test helps in the preparation for exams easier and acts as a revision for the same.

Admission

I got a good score in the common entrance test and this was one of the shortlisted colleges according the rank I scored. Also, it was nearby to my place so I readily opted for it. The admission was done according to the entrance score, once the score was apt, I got my documents verified with the college and filled my admission fee. Later I joined my college on the assigned date.

Faculty

4.5

Our college faculty is really cooperative and accessible. The professors are easy to approach in case of any doubt or queries. As for the literature faculty, the professors even organize the filming of novel based documentaries or movies. This really helps in the overall understanding of the complex chapters of literature.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
