GEHU Review

Admission procedure was very simple. I got admission based on my 12th score. I didn't have to give any entrance exams. But I got many scholarships attached to it. My score in board was more that 90% so, I got a concession of 25% and since I belong to the same state so I also received domicile scholarship.

I chose this course because in my state this is the only college (next to IIT) that is famous for providing good placements. CS department. I would say faculty to student ratio is around 1:50. Some of the faculties are highly qualified from big colleges. Exams were organized very timely and it was quite tough to pass some exams. In BTech's 3rd year there are 900 students and out of it, 500+ students got a backlog in the end semester exam of the 4th semester.

Companies that have visited our campus for providing internships are: Adobe, Amazon, LinkedIn, Atlassian. But all of these companies have visited for providing internships to women only. Other companies which come to provide internships are: TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, TERADATA, COGNIZANT. They conduct aptitude tests and interviews based on coding tests.

Students become eligible for placements and internships from their 6th semester. Companies with visit our campus are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Amazon, cap Gemini, Tera data, Adobe, etc. The highest package is around 60 lakh per annum. 24 students got an offer of 44 lakh per annum from Amazon. The college website shows that there are 100% of students get placed in college.

The fee of Graphic Era Hill University is very less for the course as compared to other private colleges. Alongside that there are many scholarships that you can avail of. Scholarships available are: Domicile certificate, Board marks scholarship, Army background scholarships, Girl child scholarships.

Fests are organized every 2-3 months and in between that some mini-events keep on happening. There are many books available in Library but all of them are related to the curriculum of various courses and they don't allow us to issue books other than our course. Classrooms are good in terms of lighting, air conditioning, and comfort. Sports activities are not a strong part of this college. They don't have the infrastructure and space for many sports and there are many many students. If you go out to play volleyball then there would be around 15 players per side. And there is just one volleyball court. There are clubs like the Photography club, Bhangra club, Kavyanjali club(creative writing), and Shikhar club(entrepreneurship).
