Remarks

The admission process of almost all of Delhi university colleges was same when I got in. It was based on cut-off method based on the marls of 12th standard. You can find the registration form on the website of Delhi university that is www.du.ac.in . However, this year, the process changed and there was an exam named CUET to get admission in colleges in DU. The admission process got slightly more complicated this year but students went through with it with the help of videos and online guidance. I got into this college with quota for 1% for girls, and applying it was a really easy process.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to get into a nice college for my graduation process, and did not put a lot of importance on course selection. I went through the cut offs and chose the best college with the most suitable course for me. I got into ARSD and studying history has been a delight for me. Especially some teachers of history dept. make history so interesting that you start enjoying on a more wholesome level. Also, we will be going on several trips, such as monuments of Delhi, South India, Rakhigarhi, Ajmer etc. Student teacher ratio has never been a problem. The teachers are very experienced and know what they are doing. Exams happen every six months, but previous year due to covid, the timing was disrupted and semesters were short termed but now everything is back on track.

Internships Opportunities

3

No official internships are offered in our college. However, the placement cell works hard and bags some internships for the students of ARSD. However, a lot of unpaid internships are always available on campus most of which include NGO work and the students are provided with certificates and sometimes LoRs.

Placement Experience

2.5

As I am a student of History dept, I don't know much about placements but from what I've seen, the placement cell of ARSD college has always been pretty active both online and offline. They keep informing students of any possible opportunity of a job or an internship. The cell has always been helpful for people of commerce dept. and the placements are also prominent only in the commerce dept., in courses like b.com(hons.) etc. The average placement is of about 600000. Not all the students gets placed by campus, since not a lot of companies visit, majority of students have to go out in the corporate world themselves and hunt for job. I have planned on getting my degree and give the DULLB exam. My goal is to study law from a nice college in Delhi University.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is pretty simple, we have to pay yearly fees and then exam fees every semester which is like 500-600 every term. It does not seem excessive. However, scholarships and campus jobs is not a very strong point for ARSD.

Campus Life

4

Since, the social lives at campuses are still recovering from Covid, the fests in DU have been toned down to a minimal times. The annual fests have not happened since I got admission but many small scale fests have taken place such as NSS fest, Diwali mela, commerce dept's fest etc. Societies in college are pretty active and take their time to work on students. They attend many events and perform very nicely and bag positions. Recruiting in societies happen every year when freshers start their term. In college campus, there are several spots for playing sports, such as indoor badminton court, table tennis' tables, basketball court, volleyball court, criclet nets, space for playing football and people keep practicing all the time and proper trials are held and teams are maintained. The infrastructure of college is sufficient but not extravagant. A new commerce block has recently been added. The classrooms have projectors in them and are of several sizes for accommodating diff. Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
