Remarks

I got addmission into Deshbandhu college, the University of Delhi in 2022 on the basis of my CUET score. The CUET application form was available on cuet.samarth.ac.in and the application fee was 1200. I scored 464 marks out of 600 total marks from subject combinations - English+ General test + Computer Science. After the results were declared I registered my application form on the CSAS portal to get addmission to the University of Delhi. The application fee was 250. I got BA Prog. (History+ Philosophy) on the basis of my preference given on the CSAS portal. It was on my 62nd preference. I didn't get top preference due to low marks in CUET. I took reservations of OBC CATEGORY which helped me a lot. My Classes started a week after my seat was reserved.

I chose this course because that's what I was getting on the basis of my CUET score. We have two teachers for each discipline one teaching in English and the other in Hindi. The faculties have teaching experience of not less than 15 years. Our class consists of 25 students in total. I haven't given any exams as it is the start of my first semester.

Class Size: 25Course Fees: INR 12851 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The price of my course was 12851 which was higher than the previous year's students around 9000. However, we do get scholarships roughly between 5000 to 8000. Registration for the scholarship starts after 2-3 months after addmission.

Campus Life

The campus life is quite good as we have so many fests and societies. The campus has a large library hall with magazines and newspapers from almost all publishers. The college offers lots of sports like weightlifting, archery, boxing, cricket, football, volleyball etc. College also has a music room, canteen and cafeteria.

I choose B.A from DU SOL because the course curruculmis exactly the same as regular DU colleges which gives degree strong crediblity for UPSC goverment jobs and further studies like M.A the syllabus is coprehensive and covers core subjects like histyory, poltical science and english litreature in detail

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course i am engaged is BA HONOURS ENGLISH in DAULAT RAM COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI, the course offered is comprehensive, interesting and detailed. The faculty of English honours department is fully supportive of the students, the faculty members do not just give theory or bookish knowledge but also help us improve our communication in English language. We have studied many areas of literature within the course offered- ROMANTIC LITERATURE, EUROPEAN LITERATURE, INDIAN LITERATURE, AMERICAN LITERATURE, DALIT LITERATURE AND EVEN REGIONAL LITERATURE TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH. Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

DCAC- a summary of college life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months

Life in college so far

I applied to the entire delhi university and got this college in my first preference and overall I was satisfied with the same because of the nirf ranking of the college. Also, I heard a lot about the faculty from some of my cousins who have been an alumni of this college that the faculty is way too good. The admission process revolves around first clearing the cuet(ug) exam and then applying to the delhi university, then there will be 2-3 rounds of Delhi university and you'll be alloted a college as per your preferences and score and cut offs...Read More
