I love IITR

I enrolled in IIT for an undergraduate program b.tech 4 years in chemical engineering through JEE Advance. The admission process is smooth because it is online due to vivid rage. But some students are facing problems with the fee portal. All laws for admission through reservation are followed as in JEE as GEN EWS 10% OBC 27% SC 15% ST 7.5% and PWD 5%. I got admission through GEN-EWS. JEE is a well-known exam in our country so there is no problem finding an application form or such kind of thing application fee at my time is 2500/- in advance.

I choose this course because of my interest in chemistry in +2 courses. The faculty ratio is around 19 students per professor. Professors are well qualified and many of them are from litigious international institutes like one of my current semester prof. Had been studied at Princeton. Teaching methodologies are quite not good as we learned in coaching institutes. But yeah the material is enough tutorials and regular lab sessions are there to know your subjects thoroughly. Exams are not so hard and not so easy. But scoring a 7-pointer is so easy and for higher grades, you have to be fully prepared.

I didn't get the opportunity to grab an on-campus internship due to my cgpa cutoff. Maximum companies require a minimum of 7 cgpa criteria and some of them even higher Companies that came are, Zomato, Microsoft, sprinkle, lime.UI, is nimble. edge, jaguar, HUL, Blume global, Tata Steel, PWC, udaan, jio, cisco, wells Fargo, American Express, ITC, uber, DE Shaw, quad eye, Rubrik, and many more.

The fee per semester is around 1.35 lacs and that is a big amount for many students so that's why iit Roorkee has so many scholarship schemes. For example, I got a 2/3 refund of my tuition fee which is 1lac. So I only have to pay around 70k reason is that my annual family income is between 1-5 lac. If it lies to <1lac then the student gets a full refund of the 1 lac tuition fee and only has to pay the mess and hostel fees. Some other scholarship schemes are JAMES THOMASON SCHOLARSHIP. James Thomason Scholarship for Top JEE Rankers. Students having up to 250 All India Rank in JEE (Advanced). They will get Rs 25000/- per month for the entire duration of their program. They will be expected to obtain a CGPA of 8.0, or above, at the end of every academic year. MCM Merit cum means Itgiven to General/OBC category students whose annual Income of parents is not more than Rs. 5,00,000/- per annum. CGPA should be 7 and no backlogs. SC ST students avial full tutuon fee waiver of 1 lac.

The best thing in iitr is college life there are several groups. You name it we have it. There are groups for music, dance, coding, data science, poetry, quizzing, robotics, mobile dev, app dev, eSports, fine arts, filmmaking, design, dramatics, photography, campus news, magazine, cinema, finance, eco, racing, ecell. And many more I can't even remember all of. For sports, there are grounds for each sport like volleyball, cricket, football, squash, gym, hockey, badminton, aquatics, snooker, and table tennis. IIT Roorkee has Olympic size swimming pool. All the clubs are run by students. HEC Himalayan explorer club is quite famous in our college because of its trek trips. Our library is a beautiful two-floor building that has availability of all kinds of academic and non-academic books. Students can issue a book free of cost for 15 days. Thomson is the annual cultural fest (oct)and cognizance(March-April) is the tech fest. Thomson's budget is around 1cr+. Students are allowed out of campus at Any time.
