Remarks

First of all du release a registration form for admission du in the month of march /April. Then du had given the power to every college to decide on a cutoff for every Department. When du release the cutoff list then I checked the cutoff of the deffirent college according to my marks...Then we had to decide to which college we had to take admitted. After the decision, We have to go to that college whatever you decide with your full Documents. In 2018 Delhi University had taken admission based on 12 marks... They counted 4 best paper's marks out of 5 ... But in those 4 papers, one language paper ( Best in marks from Hindi / English) was Compulsory for the count... I got 95 % marks in the best 4 papers... I got admission to the History Department at Kirorimal college

Course Curriculum Overview

1

The course curriculum was fantastic... And every faculty members were very polite, knowledgeable, dedicated, and interactive... They were helpful to every student in this Department... No discrimination against any student...The History Department of km was a family where everyone helped each other... The History Department of kmc was the only one history Department at Delhi University that taught in bilingual... Here the history Department has its library in both languages Hindi and English. So bilinguals help students who come from Hindi medium school.

Internships Opportunities

5

There is no difficulty in getting an internship. You can get an internship through km's placement Cell AVENUE or you can get an internship through websites such as internshala.com. I got an internship for surveying the Kamla nagar market.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is available for some departments... Like economic, B.COM, B. TECH students... Sometimes history Department students got placements in some private schools... The highest package was about 15 - 20 lakh per month for B. Tech students. About 30- 40 % got placement. I planned that get admission to pg and prepare for UPSC and PCS.

Fees and Financial Aid

A fee hike policy is normal and it depends on the government and administration. The fee hike once in about 10 to 12 years...In the First year my fee was 9120 rupees but the next year the fee was hiked but that was not a big hike in fee .. Only 2000 rupees hike per year... I think from 2019 the fee is the same till now...I got a 10 thousand rupees per year scholarship from college through the National scholarship scheme. I did not apply for a job... I wanted to get admission to a master's for history... I got 72 % marks in graduation... Then I got admission to the master's history Department of Du.

Campus Life

3

The annual fest is conducted in February/ march. This college has a big library where about 40 thousand books. You can read all types of magazines. You can read the daily news papers in both languages. History Department has its social groups and website form you can read some articles written by some brilliant students...

Hostel Facilities

4

Sharing room... One room and two students can Live... Food is best qualitative and quantitative both, total hostel fee is about 56000 rupees now ... It was 53000 in 2018. If you want to take Hostel... First of all, you have to fill UP a form... And after some days Hostel warden releases the student name list of who can take the Hostel... It is according to your 12th class marks basis as like admission...pg is costly near the km... If you want to Live single in pg you have to pay about 9000 to 10000 rupees per month and if you want to live in sharing it could be in about 7500 to 8000 per month.

Interview Experience

2.5

Yes, I had faced group discussion in the 12th class... During the period of the final exam, the teacher organized a group discussion on the topic of the syllabus... I have not faced any interview for admission but had given a test for admission in Jawahar novodaya Vidyalaya in 6 th class. This is a residential school where only those students can take admission who qualify for the test exam. This is a total government school that was opened by ex-Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhiji. This opened for providing qualitative education to economically backward students. I prepare for this exam through private coaching from vidya Niketan's school mother.

Other Applied Colleges

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
