Remarks

The College needs to develop more technically, Infrastructure is growing good. It needs to be cleaned and maintained. Active Clubs and Societies should be formed and students should be motivated for research by providing lab facilities all time as well good faculties for it. Mostly it seems the college is going to be a very good college in near future.

Entrance Preview

OJEE, My rank was 4368 I choose this college as it a Govt. Engineering College in Odisha, So it is funded by state government, Hence It could help me bear less cost as compared to private colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It is a constituent college of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). Its course structure is recently changed and has better scope of research as compared to earlier but the current scenario is not much good for research as labs are not yet fully functional and if functional it is not yet allowed to move there and sit most of the times rather it is just used while lab sessions in course and rest of time faculties use it for their own purposes. Internet facility is very weak.

Internships Opportunities

No, College does not provide any Internship as it is a new college it needs time to develop, No doubt It can be done at a fast rate as being done. But as usual government work are slow as compared to private works in most cases may due to certain legal reasons.

Placement Experience

1

Placement scenario is yet very bad as Very less or No companies come for placement as mentioned earlier may be due to the new college, This year 2 companies came WIPRO and IMS for On-campus and 1 or 2 others in core sector. While the highest package was by Wipro of (3.2 - 3.3) LPA which selected only 5 students out of which I am one.

College Events

2.5

Our college conducts many Fests as: 1. The Cultural Fest (Exuberance): It is done with great pump and enthusiasm performers are called up from Entertainment Industries It is a 4-day activity with a proper schedule. College students take part as well and I would say it is the time we enjoy a lot. Good Security and management are done. 2. The Tech Fest: It is done along with cultural fest in those 4 or 5-days basically daytime tech fest activities are done like robotics etc and evening time cultural activities are done. Apart from these the college also hosts annual sports and more such as fresher and farewell parties and also puja occasions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is very feasible as it is subsidized by the state government. The fees for even semester is Rs. 30,000/- And for the odd semester is 15,000/- Hostel fees is Rs. 61,200/year Scholarships are MEDHABRUTI and PRERANA. 60-70% get the scholarship . Yes, loans are needed if a financial problem arises.

Fees and Financial Aid

The College has syndicate bank in its area of enclosing. Loans facility is availed by some students. The scholarships availed are: 1. Medhabruti scholarship: It is for General Category students and it provides us 10000/- yearly most of us get this as it gives to top 10000 students of the state. 2. Prerna: It is for the scheduled caste/tribe as well other caste people. It provides un-uniform amount varying from 30000 to 55000 every year. Both are the govt. scholarship, A student can claim some more private scholarship of his own findings.

Campus Life

3.5

The Campus Life is quite good for living but not up to mark for learning as the facilities are limited like lab facilities and etc are not functional after college hours and during college hours we have to do our classes. Attendance is very strict. No tolerance. No form of ragging is done Food availability other than a mess is less. The clubs and societies are not functional other than a musical club. The campus needs to be cleaned and enlightened more as most parts are in dark and no habitation area.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

College Itself has got accommodation facilities it has a good number of seats in hostels as it is being constructed every year. Currently, the capacity may be around 1000+ for boys and 300+ for girls. The Mess facilities are provided by local contractual vendors who are monitored by the authority and the menu is decided by students but still, I would say it is less hygienic as they pour a lot of oil and low-quality materials it needs to be changed. Most students doubt as the mess manager pays some money to authority in responsible for handling it as after many complaints he is not being changed as well he is conquering other new hostels even which are being constructed

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, The seniors are good as they are in very good positions now such as in ISRO, DRDO, IITs, etc top companies like amazon, direct I, dell etc. But all relation is built personally, The college provides no alumni meet or forms anyway to build alumni networks, This could be a potential reason for bad placements.

Exam Structure

Yes, Exams could be said frequently as we have 2 internals and 1 Semester exam in each SEMESTERS while a semester takes around 4-5 months Including many holidays and other activities. Still, it is not much tedious I would say it is good as every exam helps a student to grasp more than he/she did during non-exam periods.

Admission

It's simple: 1.Gave OJEE exam now JEE-MAIN is considered. 2.Wait for results 3. According to rank applied online (Google to find website) 4. Wait for allotment of provisional seats 5. wait for final allotment of seats 6. Counselling is done at any nodal centre allotted after applying through online 7. Once Counselling is done at the nodal centre you will get the joining date there. 8. Moved to the allotted college and joined paying joining fees

Faculty

2

Coming to faculty assessment I would say it is not sufficient for a student to help him move through. As very less assistant professors are there and most come as guest faculty who are recent graduates and have less experience as well knowledge so we have to rely on books and online materials for course work.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
