Remarks

Overall good college, If asked to rate I will rate it 6/10 in overall. Academics 5/10 Cultural/Sports 6/10 Infrastructure/facilities - 8/10

Entrance Preview

I got admitted through JEE score; had scored 105, opted for this college as I had two options SIT or VIT, wanted to come to Pune plus added advantage of symbiosis tag and diploma MBA courses. For me no personal interview was done.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

It follows a credit structure with your GPA calculated out of 4 for each subject. On an average there are 5-6 theory subjects in one semester , with practicals extra. Last semester generally comprises of Final year project and one or two subjects. CAD CAM, FEM, Manufacturing Technology, CFD, TOM, MD, and Operations Management are some of the subjects that i taught. First year is common for all departments with common subjects.

Internships Opportunities

Only top 20-30 students (having high CGPA) are offered six months internship in various renowned industries to give hands on practical experience and exposure to latest trends. The other students will have to find on their own. It depends, some industry offer stipend some don't, that choice you will have to make.

Placement Experience

3.5

Some major names who visited the college for placement are Hyundai, Mahindra, Forbes, Microsoft, 3DPLM, Idea, KSB pump, SYntel, Capgemini, WIPRO, Infosys etc. The highest package till date which has been offered for on campus is 22 Lac and the average package here is 3.8 Lac

College Events

4

Numerous events are organised in college; cultural, technical sports etc. each having its own charm and grandeur. Reverb the cultural event is most celebrated and enjoyed of all, having n number of events in which people can participate as well as be part of audience, which comprises of Fashion Show, battle of bands, Cad-Cam, Vocals, etc. Technical fest is held earlier part of the year , each department having its own competitions. Sports fest has departments competing with each other for the coveted trophy, also juniors vs seniors and Faculty vs Students are the highlights.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Detailed fee structure are listed in the college website. However in comparison to other private colleges SIT is little expensive and might not be feasible to some classes of the society until loan is taken. The fee is divided into academic fee, administrative fee, exam fee tuition fee, hostel fees, mess fees and some security deposits apart from the expenditure over books, stationary and other things.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as my knowledge goes Scholarship is not there for graduates; for master they might have some schemes but loan can be availed by the help of authorities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The Institute has seven hostels. There are three blocks of girls and four blocks for boys. Each room is shared by 3 students. Each room has an attached toilet and bathroom. Each student is provided with a steel cot, a study table and chair and a mattress and a cupboard. Each room is shared by 3 students. Security is there tight and any late comers after the curfew time are reprimanded. WiFi n TV lounge is there. A huge mess is there providing breakfast lunch and dinner; but quality has been deteriorated over the years. May be they need to look into new caterers.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is divided into external and internal with a varied loading on each , external given more marks. The external exam happens at the end of each semester and internals is divided into 2 unit tests happening over the semester with a gap between them. internal exam and questions are set and assessed by Internal faculty. External by external faculty. The internal also comprises marks from assignments, projects Tests etc. Apart from the theory, practical has no internal exams but assignments and marks on project, external practical consists of Viva and some other hands on show if possible.

Admission

Its been long I don't remember the dates but you can keep yourself updated via their website. Administration is helpful. Payment is done at the time of final admission.

Faculty

3

All the current faculties and their detailed qualification are listed in the college website. However the college has its own M.tech students who take up practical classes. The department has very competent faculty in Operations Management, Machine Design, Mathematics, KOM, Thermal Power and Fluid Mechanics. Some professors who taught me and left a mark are namely Mr Ismail Akbani, Mr Manish Gunjal, Dr Nitin Solke, Mr Amol Dalvi and Dr Abhijeet.

During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%.
