My college IIT Roorkee

IIT JEE is the national-level engineering entrance exam consisting of two stages JEE Main & JEE ADVANCED. JEE Main is a screening exam to select the candidates who will be eligible to appear for JEE ADVANCED by clearing the cutoff of the JEE Main. After clearing both exams I went to the JOSSA site for further admission process. In JOSSA I got IIT ROORKEE chemical engineering in the first round.

I choose chemical eng. because I am interested in physics and mathematics. Almost all prof. are having PhD degrees from reputed colleges so all of them are great at their qualification credentials but not all of them teach well, so you'll have to put in effort from your side as well. The student ratio is not equal. 1st semester is divided into mid-term and end-term. its difficulty is relative and varies from student to student.

UG curriculum contains a 2-credit component of a departmental core course on industrial/field training for 6-10 weeks, generally carried out during the summer vacation following the spring semester of the third year. It is desirable for the students to undergo training outside the institute.

Further, the highest international and domestic packages offered during IIT Roorkee placements 2022 were INR 2.25 crore per annum and INR 1.8 crore per annum, respectively. Earlier, a total of 265 companies visited the campus and 1200 PPOs were made during IIT Roorkee placements. Apart from this, ten students got salary packages of more than INR 80 LPA.

The total 4-year fee for the B-tech course is around 12 lakh. There are several Fee waiver programmes for economically weaker candidates in which 100% tuition fee waivers for SC/ST/PH students. Full remission of the tuition fee for general and OBC students whose family income is less than rs. 1lakh per annum and remission of 2/3rd of the tuition fee for general and OBC students whose family income is between Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakh per annum.

Life at an IIT is always great, but at IIT Roorkee, it's a special blend of modern life and traditional values. Our homes away from home are as modern as they can be. More importantly, though have spawned the cultures that make the campus an unforgettable experience, it's here that midnight cricket tournaments, early morning bakar sessions, community computer warfare and so many other things find expression. Clubs at IITR are the best place to relax and recharge with indoor sports facilities including seven Billiards & Snooker Tables, Carrom boards, Chess boards, Table tennis facilities and football tables. IITR has a 24/7 wi-fi connection throughout the campus. IITR library has access to e-books available to every student at any time.

Our allotted hostel is named after the first president of India Dr Rajendra Prasad, Rajendra Bhawan is one of the oldest Bhawans present on the campus. Moving away from home to study is an exciting time in life. the Bhawan is well equipped with all sorts of sports, a Gym, T.V. room library, messing and internet facility. The Mess menu is updated every week and the quality of meals is overall good.
