Remarks
I would rate my college at 6/10 overall. The only thing which i didn't like about the college is that they don't have hostels and they have very little opportunity to placements

Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is theoretical as well as practical. It is up to you whether you want to study or not. About Research work, college provide sponsership every year to the students who want to do research on some projects. All you just need is to submit the abstract of the project. If passed, they will sanction you the amount you need for the project.
Internships Opportunities
It is up to the student where they want to go for the internship. College provide the stipend to every student. Last year i got about 5200 rs for 45 days training. They pay you 125rs/day.
Placement Experience
Placements and job at our college is worst. I don't see any placement opportunities in the core companies at our college. No single core company have visited college in past 4 years. You learn many things here but if you are willing to get placed here . This place is not for you.
College Events
There are basically 3 main events that occur every year. 1. TWASK (annual cultural fest) 2. Decible (annual technical fest) 3. CHAKRAVYUH (annual sports meet) TWASK is a 3 day event. Various folk dances are performed , competitions , star night. Decible is a single day tech fest in which various tech events are performed. CHAKRAVYUH is a sports event (2-3 days event)
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is average. 30-40k per semester. But there is fee waiver schemes for BPL families, girls and PD students. Yet no hostel facilities are available in the college , it become somewhat costlier to reside outside the campus. You need around 5 lakh for 4 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college provide scholarship but it is very less. It provides you rs 3600 every year for general students while 6000 for SC/ST students. If your family income is low you can avail different scholarships under HP govt scholarships hpepass.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. We have table tennis and indoor games facility available at college but only after 4pm. Majority of the students are Hindu, very few Muslims maybe 1-2 in numbers. Gender ratio would be 60/40 boys to girls. Well established workshops available in the college. Other than studies, we have different clubs at our college like music club , literary club, photography club.
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel facilities right now available. Although we have a new canteen. Food is no good there and they don't even serve quality. But as this is the only place available for us. So we have no choice. About PG's you get a room for about 2000rs per month. This is the minimum rent. You just need around 5-6k per month for rent and food.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are helpful, we share notes with the each other. We sometimes study together. There is a strong bond between students of different years specially of the same branch.
Exam Structure
Exam time is very hectic. Even you have 6 working days here. Saturday is no off for you. Exams during mid sem, are scheduled for two exams in a single day and no holidays in between. You get no time to study in between. So you need to prepare for it well before.
Admission
Earlier, the procedure was offline. We had to get the admission form from any polytechnic college and submit it with a DD of 3000rs. Counselling held in 3 rounds. Now it is done online. Admission forms are available on HPTU website. You just need to fill the form and go to the counselling on scheduled date. No merit list is displayed. On the spot admissions are done.
Faculty
Faculty of mechanical engineering is MTech and phD from renowned colleges including NITs and IITs. I would not say that every teacher at JNGEC is best but they all are good. You can't totally rely upon the teachers. You need self study along with the teacher's classes.
