Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course includes many aspects of language learning like Oral classes to learn and improve pronunciation, written classes to work on descriptive aspects, and tool courses to learn not the language but the country of the spoken language in terms of business, tourism, cinema, and market. Apart from different language courses per semester, there are amazing seminars and events to enhance the learning of the subject but also the self and society. On average 28 students have one faculty, those are highly qualified and experienced in their course of expertise. Teaching methods are unique and follow the European framework of teaching-learning foreign languages. It's quite interesting to learn languages other than English, which is far more awesome than English learning methods. JNU school of languages follows a semester system, so students have 6 semesters in the 3-year course. In a semester, one has to appear for 3 sessional exams 2 of them are considered for 50% evaluation and the other 50% is based on end sem exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

I don't think that jnu provides any type of internship however the offered internship either in govt or private organizations, JNU informs all students by their mail and by organizing seminars. Its famous internship may include the foreign teaching program that is assistant Anglais.

Placement Experience

3.5

JNU provides for placement but I never appeared in them. Because I want to apply at foreign ministries of cancer language which is French. But before going to the Ministry of external affairs I would like to share my translation and interpretation skills that's why I took MA in french translation from the very same institute which itself JNU.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very less in comparison to the majority of institutions. Rs.108 for the winter semester and 176 for the monsoon semester in a year. And Hostel holders have to pay 3000 RS per month as their mess charges along with this at the time of semester registration one has to pay 2000 for other fees. Totally in a year, one has to pay just 45000 fees. Students who have 4,00,000 p.a can apply for the MCM scholarship which can provide 2000 per month to students. One can apply at MNCs or jnu placement cells.

Campus Life

5

The library is famous all over the country with 9 stairs full of sitting halls and books in lacks of numbers. Here, many events of various fields take place here whether it is official or unofficial events. It has sports complexes in every hostel with a gym facility. Along with this jnu has a large stadium for sports and also has parks for yoga and fitness. There exits Movies, Drama, Dance, mountains club, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel registration starts with admission but one gets allotment on a list basis. A room has two students' capacity with fan tube lights, a bed, and frequent cleaning services by the hostel administration. Food quality is not the best but better than other areas' local mess. It has covered both veg and nonveg students. Has variety in means of breakfast, lunch dinner with seasonal and diverse food options.

Admission

For BA Hons in foreign languages, the students should have completed their 12th or equivalent, a specific percentage of marks not required due to the entrance-based admission system. As per the current scenario, one can find application information at JNU's official site or CUET UG site. JNU has legality in the reservation, SCs, and STs' are deprivation points for backward students despite their caste, and extra marks are given to girls. Just want to get the restoration of the old way of entrance, the JNU entrance test not the CUET. Due to the complexity of CuEt, the desiring students are unable to reach JNU. It is more emphasized on Jnu to re-introduce either it's written or JNUEE. The students desiring to come to JNU should also know that here the institute only provides foreign languages as the course in BA Hons except for English, along with BA, JNU has also commenced a B.Sc in ayurvedic Biology course for other students.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
