Course Curriculum Overview

4

As we know that the indo-Russian relationship is continuously growing, so I chose the russian language for my bachelor's degree. There is a minimum of 5 teachers on a batch of 30-50 students. The faculty is highly qualified and their teaching method is very interactive and fun. The teachers very well interact with the students and also communicate with them. There are two semesters in a year and there are three sessionals and one end-semester examination in each semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study at JNU is very low. the semester fee is around 300 every semester and the hostel charge is only 6000 for the entire course of 3 years of a bachelor's degree. There are also scholarships like mcm available for students having an annual family income of fewer than 3 lakhs. MCM scholarship provides rs 2000 monthly to the hostel residents and 800 rupees monthly to the nonresident students.

Campus Life

4

There are always fests and events going on in JNU. Many national and international conferences and convocations keep on happening. The central library inside the university is huge. The ground floor of the library is dedicated to the students so they can self-study and the library also consists of a diverse collection of books and materials for research scholars. There are always DJ nights, music nights, bonfires, and extra curricular activities happening on campus. There are also many clubs like music club, dance club, photography club, and cycling club inside our university.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The infrastructure of hostels are average.some hostels are very good in condition meanwhile some old hostels have very poor infrastructure like the roof and walls of rooms leak in the rainy season. The registration process for hostel is a little bit lengthy but the hostels are very affordable. The Mess food quality is also very average.

Admission

Students who have passed out intermediate exams can apply for a bachelor's degree. The application form is available on the official JNU website and the application fee is not more than 1000 rupees the application comes in July or august of every academic year. There are some reservation benefits like PWD quota, staff quota, defence quota, SC-ST quota, etc. There are also extra numbers for students from quartile districts meanwhile girl students also receive some extra marks in the entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
