I love IITR

I choose this degree because of my interest in chemistry in 12th class. faculty ratio is 19 students per professor. they are well-qualified and many of them are from litigious international institutions. The teaching method is not quite good as we are done in coaching but this material is enough and tutorials and regular lab sessions are there to help. but a scoring 7gpa is so easy and for higher grades, you have to be studied throughout the year.

I was unable to grab an on-campus internship opportunity because of my low GPA and my branch. there are so many companies that are not open for my branch. Maximum companies require a minimum GPA of 8. Branches like cs, ee, ece are the ones who got maximum on-campus offers. many companies provide a stipend of 50-80k per month and some of them provide 1-1.5 lac per month for a duration of 2-3 months. name of companies is as follows zomato, Microsoft, sprinkler, lime UI, nimble edge, jaguar, HUL, tata steel, ITC, uber, wells Fargo, DE shaw, Quadeye, Rubrik, jio, cisco, and many more.

from starting of fourth-year students became eligible for campus placements. There are a lot of companies that visit every year and some new companies and start-ups also hire from here. Companies are Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, sprinkler, Rubrik, jio, de shaw, jp morgan, American Express, jaguar, uber, ola, media.net, cisco, hul, nividia, adobe, nimble edge slice, zepto, bajaj, salesforce, Flipkart, Amazon, Disney, Razorpay, tata steel, Citibank, axis bank, Kotak bank, info edge. no of companies visited is 300+ and no of offers made are 900+. In 2022 no of international offers was 32. placements percentage is always higher than 90%. many students opt for placements for UPSC and other exam preparations. my plan is to get a software development job in MNC. average package is 18 LPA.

the fee per semester is around 1.35 lacs and that is a big amount for many students so that is why IIT Roorkee has so many scholarship schemes. for example, I got a 2/3 refund of my tuition fee amount of 1lac. so I paid only 70,000/ reason is that my family income is less than 5 lac. If the family income lies in less than 1 lac students then get a full refund on tuition fees and only have to pay the accommodation charges. Scholarship schemes are as JAMES THOMASON scholarship is for top jee rankers who have jee advance rank under 250. They will get 25k per month for the entire duration of the program. MCM is merit cum means scholarship and this is given to gen/obc category students whose annual income of parents is less than 5lac.

The best thing in any college is campus life. there are groups for music, dance, coding, data science, poetry, quizzing, robotics, mobile and app development, e-sports, fine arts, filmmaking, design UI/UX, dramatics, photography, campus news, magazine, cinema, finance, eco, racing, E-cell and many more. For sports, there is a ground for each like volleyball, cricket, and football. squash, gym, hockey, badminton, aquatics, snooker, and table tennis. IIT Roorkee has Olympic size swimming pool. HEC Himalayan explorer club is famous in our college because of its treks to the Himalayan mountains. Thomso is our annual cultural festival which is held in October it has a budget of more than 1 crore and this is Asia's second-largest fest. Cognizance is a tech fest of iitr which is held in March-April every year. In IITR students are allowed to go outside 24*7.

very fewer fees for the hostel and the infrastructure is old in 7 hostels out of 10. only three hostels are new. In the hostel, there is a mess and a canteen. Here we also have night canteens and that is the best part. Mess food is not quite good but it is healthy. I personally like the breakfast meal most. they provide special meals twice a week and there is a non-veg meal also. in the first year, boys got double sharing rooms and after the first year, they were provided with single rooms. but the situation for girls is not the same they have to share rooms till the end of their graduation. Roorkee is a small town so renting a pg is hard but the rent might be low. we have a married hostel and a different hostel for PhDs.

I admit to a 4th-year undergraduate degree for a b.tech in chemical engineering through JEE advance. the admission process is easy because it is conducted online due to covid. but some students faced problems with the fee payment portal. reservation are as follows GEN EWS 10%, OBC 27% , SC 15%, ST 7.5% and PWD 5%. JEE is a well-known exam in India there is no problem finding the application form and the registration fee for the exam is 2500/- for advance and 1000/-for JEE main at my time.
