Remarks
I got admission to the College through the choice-based credit system. I got it in the 3rd cutoff. Application forms, fees, and dates were all available on the official website of Delhi University. The process to apply is quite convenient. The only thing I found as a drawback is there should not be any charge to change your college in subsequent cutoffs and one comparison option should be there to choose the better college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for this course as I am a UPSC aspirant and political science gives a good syllabus coverage and comprehensive knowledge about upsc. There are 60 students in our batch with 5-6 professors involved directly in teaching. The faculties are highly qualified mainly from jawaharlal nehru university, Jamia, and Delhi university. The teaching method is quite interdisciplinary and practical, wherein concepts are explained in detail. True reasons for not attending class are considered by the professors and they also give good teaching apart from mere academics. Exams are held semester-wise every 4-5 months and it is easy to score above average if you have attended classes, made proper notes, and written nicely in the exams.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available to students but if you are searching for a full-time internship our principal is not very supportive of it because he pays more importance to the lectures and he believes that every student should prior to it. Otherwise, part-time internships are available and even internships are provided by the College administration itself. I don't have much idea about the stipend as I am not much involved in the internship process.
Placement Experience
The placement and internship cell is active and students get internship opportunities in their 1st and 2nd years and finally get placed in 3rd year for most of the commerce courses with an average package of 5.5 lakhs and the highest package of 9 lakhs. For art courses, there is not much scope for placement but get good opportunities in sectors like teaching, government jobs, law, etc. All the big fours and associated firms and startups recruit students from our college. 85% above placements are done specifically in commerce and economics.
Fees and Financial Aid
Initially, the fee was 7250 but now it rose to 10050 for our course but it is quite justified as there is also a high level of development in the college on the basis of good infrastructure, and facilities that are being provided. Financial assistance is provided to the one who is economically backward and the process is quite easy as well.
Campus Life
Apart from being far from other colleges shaheed bhagat singh college is adjacent to the college of vocational studies and provides good exposure levels, exciting fests, and interesting sports events like interdepartmental competitions. There are a lot of books, magazines, and reports for every course, and even apart from the course books like novels and fiction. The classrooms are not very good but decent. The fans work properly and good ventilation as well. There are over 30 societies in the College that are very active and give good memories of College life.
