Remarks

Admission for the 2021 batch was based entirely on the Merit list. Students who made it to the lists got admitted. The last cut-off for BA Economics Honors was 98.75% for the general category. The Delhi university website had all the details, additionally, Miranda house's website also offers the relevant information required.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was interested in the subject from my high school and thus decided to pursue the same for my graduation. Miranda House offers excellent faculty services. Professors are extremely helpful and approachable. Almost all the senior faculty have Ph.D. degrees.

Internships Opportunities

A lot of internship opportunities are available for college students. From content writing to technical ones, covering domains of different courses. Companies like DE Shaw Group come to the campus for internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are extremely low since it is a government college. Upto 15k and it keeps on decreasing as we move to the next year of graduation. I haven't personally availed of any financial assistance or scholarships.

Campus Life

Miranda House is known for its beautiful campus. It offers a wide range of infrastructure facilities. The annual fest of MH is Tempest. It generally takes place in March - April. Library has a huge stock of books of varied genres. There are co-curricular like dance, music, and many societies, and clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

The course i am engaged is BA HONOURS ENGLISH in DAULAT RAM COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI, the course offered is comprehensive, interesting and detailed. The faculty of English honours department is fully supportive of the students, the faculty members do not just give theory or bookish knowledge but also help us improve our communication in English language. Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

DCAC- a summary of college life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months

Honestly, I got Lady Shree Ram college at first with an English hons degree in hand. But I had Miranda listed 5 times in top 10 colleges I wanted to go to. So, I guess I got what I wanted. But, my dream college was Srcc with an economics degree. I am currently pursuing economics as a minor subject for now though. I believe that Miranda is a great college but it can never offer me what Srcc could. The admission process of my college is through the entrance exam called CUET.
