Course Curriculum Overview
Although the syllabus seems antiquated and could be improved to include a far more diverse categorisation, the faculty at MH is amazing. They offer guidance, support and the right environment to better your academic experience. They are all experts in their fields, having published papers and secured their doctorates. The University conducts semester exams that test if your knowledge of the course material is satisfactory.
Internships Opportunities
BBC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs etc offer internships and later placement offers. The government too pitches in with internship opportunities for interested students. You can choose your particulars and upload your details on the College Placement Cell website and be notified.
Placement Experience
The Placement Cell at MH is quite active and secured great packages for applicants with the skillset, eligible from Semester 5. most packages and offers received are geared towards Economics or Science students (MH does not have a Commerce Department). I plan on continuing my studies in academia.
Fees and Financial Aid
The NEP has brought about a 15% hike in college fees. The cost of study, including study material is nominal, given government concessions and the financial assistance available. There are a variety of scholarships available which the staff would gladly guide you towards.
Campus Life
The infrastructure at MH is far better as compared to the rest of DU, with most amenities being available and functional tech. The campus environment is beautiful and encouraging, with a host of clubs and societies to join. The Union conducts Tempest, The Annual College Fest every year with much pomp. One can have their pick of socs/clubs, such BlueQuill (The Creative Writing Club), Ariels-The Theatre Society etc.
Admission
The admission process was as per the norm, via the Delhi University portal. Securing a seat at Miranda House for Bachelor in English required passing a high cutoff of 97.25 on my 12th-grade boards. It begins around August-September and the University lets you know if your admission has been approved once you submit relevant documents.
Other Applied Colleges
Mount Carmel College - [MCC] | Bachelor of Arts [BA] (English)
I found a better fit.
