Course Curriculum Overview
Social workers assist people in coping and enhancing their quality of life by listening to their needs, whether they are small children, adults, or the elderly. You will be able to fill a range of diverse professional tasks with a degree in social work. Working with older people, in hospitals, or the foster care industry are a few of these positions. Many employers will value the skills you gain while pursuing this degree. Communication with clients, problem-solving, empathy, teamwork, and time management are all transferable skills that can be used in a variety of social work roles as well as other professions. Most of the faculty are quite well-versed and hold doctoral degrees. During the course, you will be placed in an agency by your Field Work Supervisor. There are semester exams every 6 months.
Internships Opportunities
Social work students are placed in an NGO or social organization which helps them gain hands-on experience. They are placed by their respective College Supervisor. All students go to the agency 2 days a week and make fieldwork reports and agency profiles.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite nominal from Rs.14,000 to Rs. 18,000 per academic year. Remember this is an honors course from Delhi University. Exam fees are charged separately every semester. There are plenty of scholarships available for students e.g. Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC. Register on the NSP portal to avail of it. There is also a fee concession by the college. Campus Life
Life is quite vibrant at the college and there are multiple societies and clubs you can be part of. Many sports facilities like basketball, kabaddi, and cricket are there. Most of the teachers and seniors are very supportive. There are many resources in the College Library and students can borrow up to 3 books at a time.
Admission
Must have passed 12th Standard from a recognized board. Admission to DU courses is done on basis of CUET and one must score well in the following subject combination: Any one Language from List A + Any two subjects from List B1 + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2. Merit will be based on the CUET scores obtained from the above-mentioned combination of subjects. After your name appears in the cutoff, pay the fees on the portal to confirm your seat.
