Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I always wanted to learn a foreign language and Russian specifically caught my attention because of its rich literature and culture also Russian is a difficult language to learn so I took it as a challenge The faculty consists of 7 members 4 professors and 3 PhD scholars the faculty is great, all the members have been and stayed in for a decent time also the professors are quite experienced and teach really well all 4 professors have done their master's and PhD from Moscow state university Russia, their teaching method is really simple and easy to understand, they respect the fact that the language is new to us and focus individually on each student of the class The faculty is also very supportive and actually put effort to make the students understand better As mentioned before Russian is a difficult language to learn so the exams are also difficult to pass there are generally 3 sessionals and an end sem examination per semester its easy to ace if you attend classes daily

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee is 240 per semester I.e 480 rupees per year which is very much affordable the hostel fee is around 1000-1500 a year as well and the mess bill generally comes between 3000-3700 per month which includes nutritious breakfast lunch and dinner there are a ton of scholarships if you are good at the language the average placement goes around 7 lpa you can also start earning from 1st year also by doing paid internships and later get placed in the company

Campus Life

4.5

JNU is a place of cultural and fun fests..name a fest which jnunites don't celebrate, be it Holi, eid or Christmas jnu is the place to come on these days, the campus is massive, very lush green and full of nature. the crowd is insanely intelligent and well behaved with juniors there's also no curfew for girls or boys at night you have the absolute freedom of time .you will always be amused whenever you go to Ganga dhaba at 2a.m you'll meet a lot of known friends their throughout your degree ...as they call if you want campus life come to jnu The class rooms are really good too with smart screens and air conditioners all around the room you will always find people playing different games in the stadium jnu students are very active and love playing sports Theres a ton of clubs and societies to join including dance club, singing club, mountaineering club, gym club etc all run by students for the students

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are a bit old but they are decent to live in most hostels are under maintenance right now too the rooms are fairly big for 2 with 2 cupboards and 2 study tables and 2 beds The food is pretty nice the diet consists of tasty and nutritious food the quality is also quite better than other universities

Admission

The eligibility criteria are very basic like other universities you just need 60% to apply to any course There is no separate application form for jnu you need to apply through the common university entrance test (cuet) portal the last day to apply for cuet is 30th March 2023 and you must take English (as a language in cuet ) and general test the aggregate of these two would be considered for admission and the application fee is 750 (for general students) the reservation benefits are the same as other central universities I.e lower cutoffs and other benefits for- Scheduled tribes Scheduled castes Other backward castes Physically handicapped students Widows and wards of defence personnel Wards of jnu service mens the cutoffs are generally quite high, the safe score would be 410+ (gen test +eng lang)

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
