- Campus is big and it has very good infrastructure.
- Canteen is big, you will get good no. Of options and the quality is not that bad
- The faculty is really very nice. They focus more on student participation during classes rather then rote learning.
Dislikes
- College should treat BA PROGRAMME as equal as other arts courses.
- College should take care of its surroundings outside the college as there is sewage problem every month
- There are so many stray dogs inside the college which can be dangerous for students
Course Curriculum Overview
I have opted Ba program because it provides multiple subjects to study as I am a UPSC aspirant, and we have studied all the subjects, especially social science so I found this course suitable as per my requirement. The student-teacher ratio is fine college has a good number of teachers approximately 200+, so students teacher ratio is good. The faculty of sri venkateswara college is highly good. They now focus more on critical analysis rather than rote learning as I have experienced till now. Exams always happen as per DU guidelines usually after every 4 months and It's not difficult to pass the exam if you have attended classes and revised the concept a few weeks before the exam. You will able to get good marks.
Internships Opportunities
There are multiple internship options you will get both paid and unpaid but if talk about paid then an average stipend is 4-5K and mostly these internship requirements are creative writing, etc. But I have never joined any so I will not able to say more about it.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I took admission the fee was 12500/- but last year there is a fee hike of 2000 rupees in that. It means 14500. There are low chances of getting any scholarship here but yes if u belong to a reserved category/pwd/ews will get a fee concession. You can avail of this by filling out the application form for the same.
Campus Life
Nexus is one of the popular annual fests of Delhi University which happens at Venky and various other events happen during the year like the Diwali mela and cultural events organized by students of various states. The Venky library is newly constructed and it has an ample amount of books and the ambiance is also good. Sri Venkateswara College is very famous for its sports, especially cricket and it has a proper cricket academy. Extracurricular activities like dance music debates etc are there. If we talk about social groups and clubs there are some like a happy club, exordium- civil services preparation.
Admission
According to the current scenario, the admission procedure has been totally changed from 10+2 merit to Cucet, in which u have to appear for the entrance test where you will ask questions from the social science subjects and English language. The merit list will be made on the basis of this entrance test mark. Those who belong to the reserved category will get benefitted here in the merit list, to avail of this benefit they need their category certificates.
