Remarks

The college i was going to take classes was good. I never faced any issue from their management i just wish if they could provide more classes and make student submit assignments just like IGNOU do it would be better.

Entrance Preview

I was from commerce stream and i scored 60 % in board exams and as this SOL is under Delhi University so i had to check if i am qualified to get the admission according to prospectus. I chose the B.A. as it have good scope and also one can go for MBA for post graduate i chose the SOL for various reasons like, low fee, no regular class so that i can earn too, Can do MBA after that.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure is quite basic in first year and looks easy but the student will have to work hard to easily pass these subjects because it focuses on strengthening the basics of a student. The first year course comprises of subjects like English, Hindi, economics and political science.Further year advances the course structure and includes advance courses too.

Internships Opportunities

Its an open college so there will be no internship but you can find a job your self because there will be a lot of free time. A B.A. student have lot f scope to find jobs in sectors like BPO, KPO, Tour and travels, Event management, etc.

Placement Experience

3

SOL Doesn't have a good jobs and placement structure. The problem with the non-technical studies is that, there is hardly any private company that recruits those candidates. Hence the chances for non technical candidates shrinks up to only in the government jobs. The government field which is also a prosperous field, the non technical students have great chances there. So you being from a non technical background must go for the government jobs.

College Events

3

I really wish if there were any events organised by SOL but one can go to fests organised by colleges under DU but you may occur some entry fee or may be not, it fully depends on event's management. Usually people who chooses open learning doesn't go to any events like that but i will suggest you that you should and it will be fun and this is i am saying from experience because i visited the fest of dyal singh college and it was rocking experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee for one year is 4500 i would say it was quite feasible because i was earning too and its easy to manage this much fee yearly. Exam fee was included in yearly fee of the program. Good thing was i got books from university, although they were not much useful as they doesn't help you that much in course.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are some scholarship Programs by Delhi University but i haven't taken any. The college fee is feasible so i haven't felt the need of education loan but one can always avail that for economic support. None of my friends took any loan for this much fee as it is quite easily manageable.

Campus Life

4

The interaction between classmates and others are lesser than the regular courses so there were not many events where i could judge someone's thought process. However as much as i have seen the campus on suday classes Gender ratio in campus is equal. Race, Religion, Economic status, Sexual orientation has never been a point to judge someone for their ability everyone is provided a fair chance in everything.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facility isn't available in the college campus. But one can easily find a PG in Delhi an average rent for PG in that area is around 8000pm or can be less as per the requirement. I am delhi resident so never needed one but one of my friend was from

Alumni/Alumna

The interaction between college seniors was good. They gave a good insight to course syllabus and also provided advice on exams.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is quite simple. Exams will be held on yearly base. It will be chilled out experience as there is no hectic schedule. Lab courses aren't there i had a lot of time to prepare for exams and never felt nervous. It is definitely an advantage ov

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
