Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this college because this is the 3rd best government technical college in our state Uttarakhand. The reason to choose this branch (ECE) is that this branch is said to be evergreen and various options are available in this, you can go for the core as well as the IT sector. Usually, there are 60-65 students in each branch, but in our college ECE and IT branch has 50 students each. So the faculty-to-student ratio is not very good. Our department lacks teachers. sometimes 1 teacher teaches 2 courses in the same semester. Each teacher has a PhD degree but sometimes due to the lack of professors, we have TPs who are usually having an MTECH degree. There are on average 3 lectures per course in a week with labs of 2 - 3 courses. The labs are not taken very seriously nor we having good lab assistants. We have in total 2 prefinals, and 1 final exam in 1 semester. The passing criteria are that you need to score more than or equal to 50%

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The companies that offer internship programmes to students with even paid stipends are ITC private ltd, Mahindra, TATA ITC private ltd. they have chosen around 5 students from the branch of agricultural engineering and mechanical engineering this year From the 3rd year, students have to make projects for their academic purposes and also for the purpose of getting an internship. From the 1 year, each student has to do industrial training in any of their chosen fields during the summer break.

Placement Experience

2.5

After 5 the semester you are eligible to sit in campus placements. The main companies that visit the college are Mahindra, TCS, ITC, Suzuki, Infosys, and many others. These companies usually allow more than 2 branch students to sit in their placements. The placements are usually taken place in several rounds. the average package offered is 7-7.5 lakhs per annum. The highest packages are 11 -14 lakhs per annum. Most of the placements take place from the mechanical and computer engineering branch. many students sit in on-campus placements and don't plan for the GATE exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total tuition fee per year is around 50,000 and there are extra charges for the hostel and mess which are usually 30, 000. In every branch, some students get tuition fee waivers ( there is a relaxation in tuition fees, but they don't need to give tuition fees). You can apply for a scholarship through the NSP portal, there are various types of scholarships available. For technical scholarships, there is a PRAGATI scholarship for girls and a SAKSHAM scholarship for boys.

Campus Life

3

There is an annual technical fest called COLLOSEUM WHICH IS 3 DAY AND 2 NIGHTS EVENT in which there is a celebrity night where artists and performers gave their performances, in the last few years various artists like Darshan Raval, The local train, gajendra verma have come here. And this year fortunately Ankit Tiwari is going to come. other events like RAZZMATAZ ( technical fun fair ), accolades, conflux games, and athletic meets also take place. And from time to time other branch events are held. you can get your curriculum books free of cost from the library and also you can other books and journals as per your choice. There are a total of 2 regular and 2 conference classrooms in our department. The classroom condition is well with fans for cooling and a water cooler for hygienic water. There is a huge stadium in which you can do running, cricket, football any game of your choice and from time to time inter hostel competitions are held. There is an ETS society.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

ROOMS: Total 2 students live in 1 room and the rooms have 1 bed for each , 1 cupboard for each and a balcony area. There is a fan for cooling . MESS: The quality of food during the 1 year mess is very good with a variety of food items but after 2 year the quality decreases and only small portion is given with limited variety in food. AFFORDABILTY: the hostel rooms are easy to afford , they dont cost much but the mess charges are high of 20, 000 for 1 year. You can not rent a room inside the campus , but outside you can .

Admission

To take admitted to this college in the BTECH programme you need to give JEE MAINS exam. There is no other exam for taking admission to BTECH. Then there is a different counselling process which is called UTU counselling which usually takes place before the JOSHAA counselling which is for NITS and IITS. In this UTU counselling all the technical institutes of Uttarakhand participate like GBPEC, Pauri Gharwal, and other private institutes. Usually, there are 3 rounds of counselling, but for each counselling, you have to pay 1000 rs as counselling fees and you have to fix your seat in that particular college by physically going there and completing the application form. There is a total fixture released by the college in which the total seats reserved for different categories in different branches are given.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant, focusing on practical knowledge for real-world prep, though more hands-on application and updated content would strengthen it. Exams occur 6 times yearly; they are tough but fair for the course.
