- The college authorities aren't much sensitive towards the major students needs and students are seen protesting.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of English Hons. contained literature of different genres and eras, and though the course seemed tough at the start, it became easy to grasp with our faculty members. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. pass out from different parts of India, and the course was chosen by me for my inherent interest in literature and reading. It allowed me to explore a lot of new things, and come to know about different terms associated with English literature throughout the world.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies visit the campus like Chegg and Delloite and they offer internships and job opportunities ranging from Rs.5,000 a month to Rs. 50,000. Some NGOs also visit the college campus and bring career opportunities for students.
Placement Experience
The placements are offered through an online placement platform, however, there are more internship opportunities offered and not many placements. The ROI is average if considered about the placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is affordable if compared to other private universities. It cost me around 20,000 each year and the college's infrastructure is much worthy that amount. The cost to study won't burn your pockets, and many companies are visiting the college's placement portal every time of the year. The college also provides financial assistance and scholarship to those who can't afford the fees.
Campus Life
Life at SGTB Khalsa is great! Ranging from an amazing campus infrastructure to the Punjabi annual fest, time and again functions of different societies throughout the college, and many other celebrations, the college has its unique vibe. Even our campus has its gurudwara sahib where events are conducted throughout the year. The library is pretty decent, and there are several books on all topics. The college ground is a platform for cricket, football, and other sports tournaments of the whole Delhi University, adhering to the large college size ground.
Admission
The course I pursued was pretty difficult, given that it was an English Hons. course, however, our professors made the syllabus seem much easy and comprehensible. The course was eligible as per the 12th percentage in 2020, where 95% was the cutoff. The college is Sikh Minority, although I am from a general category, and scored 96% in Commerce & Maths subjects which gave me an advantage to successfully get admitted to the university. Located in the North Campus, the admission process was seamless and online, and all the steps were very smooth for anyone to apply.
