Course Curriculum Overview
The reason for selecting this course in civil engineering is because relatively NIT PATNA provide better opportunities in the field of civil engineering as compared to other colleges. The branch of civil engineering has an average of 130 students each year and the faculties are more than enough to manage all the curriculum in academic as well as extracurricular. Almost all the faculties who are there in the department of civil engineering have completed their PhD/Mtech and they have a good experience in teaching. The faculty are cooperative and are very supportive. In each semester we have 2 exams Mid-semester exam and an End Semester exam the semester is 6 months long, and we also have some class tests between these two examinations. The examination is medium level to pass.
Fees and Financial Aid
The detailed fee structure of NIT PATNA Is available on the college's official website, the college tuition fee is Rs 62500 per semester and some miscellaneous charges are also taken in the fees which is about Rs 5000 per semester. The scholarship is provided by NSP(NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL) and also from some other sources.
Campus Life
Life in this college is quite good, the annual fest named Corona& Melange is organised in the month of January and February, in which many colleges participate and perform. In NIT PATNA we have a central library in which most of the books related to our study are provided and the Library also provides journals. The classroom is also well equipped with technology considering the smart board and TVs, air conditioning system in all the classrooms and a speaker system is also provided with seating arrangement in the bench form. The college organise Intermural which is an interdepartmental sports competition. The Student Activity Center is fulfilled with sports activities like the badminton court, table tennis, squash room, pool table, and separate gym for boys and girls. Many clubs are present in the NIT PATNA to make college life interesting and events are also organised to interact with everyone.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel accommodation in NIT PATNA is somewhat its major con because the accommodation is not good, like in the first year almost 4-5 students stay in a single room with facilities like LAN network and basic things of need, ACs and cooler are not provided in summers. The quality of food provided in the mess is somewhat good, and the menu has some options, the mess in NIT PATNA are vegetarian mess but one can opt for non-veg by giving extra charges. The registration process for the hostel is through college administration, the annual charge is Rs 48000 for both mess and hostel
Admission
The admission process is fully administrated under the exam JEE MAIN and the counselling process which is JOSAA as well as CSAB. JEE MAIN provides two attempts in an academic year, one in the month of January and the other in April, the application form for the exam is provided on the portal of NTA. The application fee for a General, OBC candidate is Rs650 per attempt and for SC, ST and girls it is Rs350 per attempt. Reservation is provided in the seat matrix for OBC, SC, ST and girl candidates. The admission process is quite simple and no changes should be done to alter it. If someone doesn't get any reservation then they must score at least 96 percentile in JEE main to get admitted to the college.
