Welcome to the Review of My College

I chose CSE because I am quite interested in computers and all its related stuff. I love learning about new technologies and all. Talking about the faculty-student ratio, so, there are 230 students in my batch, and, there are around 50 faculty in the CSE department. So, on average, I can say the faculty: the student ratio is 1:4 or 1:5. Faculty are highly qualified and well-experienced. Most of the faculty have over 10 years of experience, all are professionals in their respective fields of interest. To be honest, they teach brilliantly, always try to make us understand the concept, and you can ask for doubts, whenever, like, you can go to their cabin in your free time. They are always ready to help the students regarding their doubts. There are two term exams, one is the Mid-sem exam, which is generally in 2nd or 3rd month of the semester, and, the other is an end-sem exam. Exams are on an average level, anyone who is regular to the class, and focuses on their studies, can easily pass the exam.

For internship opportunities, many companies come and offer different roles. Companies like Amazon, Atlassian, Wipro, and many more visit the college, for very eyes pleasing stipends. They offer internships for various roles, like, SDE, designing, and many more. Every company has its different recruitment process, so, it depends on the company, and, the tasks and projects also depend on the role, you have got in the company. Overall, there are a lot of internship opportunities, like, many companies visit for hiring interns, in our college. I have not done any internship, but I'll update this review regularly, to know about my college and every facility and opportunity here.

Placements over the years in this college is brilliantly increasing. Students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester and for internships, from the 5th semester. Many companies visit the college, like, Atlassian, Amazon, Paytm, Wipro, etc. Talking about the highest package, there is an offer of 1.08 cr made from Amazon, last year. Many offers of 30, 40, and 50 lakhs are made. The average package is 9.6 lakhs. I'm very delighted to say that in the last two years, there is 100% placement in the CSE branch, and, overall placement is over 80%. I want to get placed in some very good MNC, for some very good package offer, after getting the degree.

The fee structure is quite affordable for the upper middle class. Because, for odd semesters, the tuition fee is 67600 rs, and for even semesters, it's 67000 rs. It has been two years, I have not seen any fee hike, and, I have researched while taking admission, so, I got to know that, it is following this fee structure for the past 3-4 years. For financial assistance, there is a criterion based on family income, like, for those below 1 lakh family income, free tuition fee, for 1 to 5 lakhs family income, you have to pay 1/3rd of the tuition fee, and, for those above 5 lakhs, you have pay full tuition fee. There is no scholarship on campus. You can apply for state or central-level scholarships and you can also apply for education loans from the bank. There are many job opportunities on campus, with a very good stipend. Many companies visit the campus, like, Wipro, Accenture, Deloitte, Atlassian, Paytm, etc.

There are many fests conducted in the college. Like, there is a Corona annual fest, and, there is an Annual tech fest. Tech Fest is conducted in January or February and Corona Melange Fest in November or December. There are many clubs in the college, like, Hackslash, Natvansh, and different clubs for different interests. Campus life is overall good. The campus is not that vast, but, it is managed nicely. In the library, all the books, whichever is required are available in stack. You can issue as many books as you want, and, there are charges for fines and, all, which you can read from the library guidelines. Classrooms are full ac packed, great atmosphere to study. There are many sports and yoga events, and, an Inter-NIT tournament, which is a competition between students from all the NITs. There is a coding club run by students for students and NSS.

The hostel facility is overall good. There are two sitter and three sitter rooms, in Sone Hostel ( A and B block) and two sitters in Brahmaputra, Kosi, and Bhagmati Hostel. There is a facility of water cooler, fan, free wifi, 24*7 electricity, lifts, and many more. Talking about meals and the menu, I can say it is below average. Most of the time, students used to eat from the nearest restaurants or somewhere. The menu is structured very beautifully covering all the needs, but, the quality of meals is not at par level. To register for a hostel, you have to go to the college's official website and fill in the form for the hostel when the brochure for hostel accommodation is published.

To take admission to this college, you have to give JEE Main entrance exam. You can give this exam either when you are in the 12th class or you have two more years to give this entrance exam. JEE Main is usually conducted twice (two sessions) in a year most probably in January and April. You can find the application form on the official website of JEE Main. The application fee for the entrance exam, when I was giving, was Rs. 650 per session. And that time, there were 4 sessions. So, to check application fees, you can visit the official website. Applications are opened usually in December end of January and the April attempt and in March end or starting April for the April attempt, depending on the date, on which the entrance exam is going to be conducted. The admission process is very simple. After the exam result, you need to fill out the form for counseling, you will get college based on the cut-offs. I got CSE, and, I'm from the General category, cutoff was around 15k ranks.
