It never fails to amaze me.

Overall, the experience is very satisfying and amazing. I fell in love with the college the day I came here and will keep loving it every day of my life ahead. IIT Roorkee provides a great hue of avenues which at times can be overwhelming to one. The amazing aesthetics and greenery of the campus make me feel energy for every day that passes by. The college has endowed me with many facilities such as

I managed to crack the grueling JEE Advanced 2017 with an all India rank of 433. This fetched me the Undergraduate course in Computer Science and Engineering, which I was genuinely interested in since my schooling days. Computers and programming is a field that will never lose its relevance in the technical world.

It's only been a few months since I have joined IIT Roorkee, so I might not be in the righteous place to judge the complete course curriculum; but on the basis of everything that I've studied, the curriculum is not a bulky one and I find most of the subjects quite relevant and informative, except a few like ethics and environmental studies.

Since I've just joined the college I've no first hand experience regarding internships. This is what I read somewhere: IIT Roorkee – Summer Internship programme is an 2 month programme which gives opportunity to under graduate and postgraduate students to participate in research projects at the 16 departments and the 3 centres of excellence of IIT Roorkee.

Even though the fee at IITs is highly subsidized, after the recent revision in the fee structure, the per semester fee escalated from around 50,000 to 160000, which is a huge hike. The reserved quota SC ST) students are still exempted from the fee as stated by the MHRD notification.

Hostels proved to be way better than my expectations- lush greenery, well-maintained lawns, eye-catching decorations form part of the infrastructure. Hostel rooms are decent with basic facilities like chair,-table, bed, tube light and a fan. Bathrooms and corridors are cleaned on a daily basis. Lack of cooling or air-conditioning is felt at times during the peak summers. All of these shortcomings are submerged by the fact that our hostel rooms provide a gigabit Ethernet connection, which is, most probably, the fastest personal internet connection in the country.

Nope. The lab sessions and exams aren't very frequent as of now and it really is a chill culture. The-night-before approach works well for many subjects, while subjects like maths, physics, computers are also moderately difficult.

The faculty here are very supportive and learned. They try their level best to deliver well-balanced and informative lectures. They are very qualified as most of them are pursuing research in their respective fields; and their involvement with research is what sometimes seems to hinder their teaching capabilities as they seem to be under a time-crunch. Thus they speed through their lectures and sometimes lose connect with the students.
