Remarks
The college provides more of a strict atmosphere very much similar to that experienced in our school life. A method of teaching, where the students are inculcated with the importance of cultural values, is something I found very much welcoming to join the university. The university focuses on value-based education in which high priority is given to not only just education for earning money but also to an education which will teach you how to face different problems- both material and spiritual. In short Amrita models not just engineers but also good citizens for the nation.
Entrance Preview
Students can get admission into the college through Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination. The exam itself eliminates a huge number of students, hence the need for an interview is redundant. Being a huge fan of programming and implementing the corresponding circuits made me take the decision of taking the course of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course includes lab sessions which provides experience that certainly can't be obtained from a theory session. The institute also has labs which can be joined to work in during non-working hours. The students has exposure to international symposiums and many competitions conducted by elite organizations like IEEE, AYUDH etc. The electives include physics subjects, chemistry subjects, humanities subjects and languages.
Internships Opportunities
The College had provided a internship for Raspberry pi after first year. Unfortunately, I didn't know the importance of Internships then, and so I didn't go for it. After second year, during the Summer vacation, I participated in an Internship by HP. The program was on Big Data and it lasted for ten days. The HuT lab and MISR lab, from my College has also provided Internships.
Placement Experience
The placement training in the college starts after completion of the third year of the B-Tech degree. Some of the core companies that came for recruitment were CISCO, Mu Sigma, Bosch. There were also companies like Infosys, TCS and Wipro. The students are given intensive training by Corporate Industries Relations - a department in the college which deals with placements and other interactions with corporate on behalf of the university.
