- I really like the campus along with the life it comes with. Green and lush campus.
- I really like all the sports facilities and all the canteen food (its cheap and good).
- I really like the place too. You can go visit place Mussoorie, Shimla, Manali In vacations because its all in about 200-300 km radius.
Dislikes
- I really hate Curriculum, Mess food, Hostels.
- The campus is not too big. If you keep walking it just ends in an hour.
- I really dislike the teaching methods of professors.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is fine. Not great not bad. You are taught a bunch of unnecessary subjects along with your main curriculum. The professors are not great. They are experts in their own fields but they don't know how to teach. They are all highly qualified but teaching methods are just too orthodox. Exams are conducted in midterms and End terms per semester.
Internships Opportunities
IIT Roorkee has Placement and internship cell which organize all the test and hr round for students. Some of the companies are Google, Microsoft, Intel, jp morgan, Flipkart, uber, jio, and many more. The project can be done under Prof and in clubs.
Placement Experience
4th year students apply for campus placements. The average package is upwards of 25 lacs. Companies such as JP Morgan, Flipkart, Google, etc. come here for placements. The highest packages go upwards of 1.5 crores. Almost 95% of students get placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee per semester is 143000. It includes everything- Tuition fees as well as a hostel, mess, and other facilities. You can get a fee waiver based on your caste and CGPA such as MCM. The fees are not too high.
Campus Life
Life at campus is pretty great. There are 4 fests per year. Tech Fest is Cognizance. The cult fest is Thomso. One sports fest and one social summit fest. Cognizance is conducted in January. Thomson in September- October. There are lots of books in the library but you won't find any literature here. The classrooms are well made and big. There is a cricket ground, hockey ground, and football ground along with lots of indoor facilities. There are 15 cult clubs and more than 20 tech clubs on campus.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are not great. girls hostel are much better than boys hostel. In the girl's hostel, you have to live in a triple room or double room for at least two years. In a boy's hostel, you may get a single room for all 4 years but the chances are highly unlikely. Mess food is not good. You will definitely start relying more on the canteen and food from outside after a period of time.
Admission
The entrance exam is JEE Advanced. You have to clear JEE mains to qualify for that. 75% marks in 12th grade is a requirement. Reservation is given on a caste basis such as- EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and also 20% reservation is for female candidates.
