- Not much developed area,the nearby markets need to be more established.
- Some hostel rules .Girls are not allowed even not allowed in campus after 6pm.
- Also extra coching centres are not available near by.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in telecommunication so, I chose this course. Also with my rank, I got an ETC branch. The faculties are really good many of them did their MTech for renowned Colleges. The current head of the department is handling the branch sincerely. The syllabus covers the most relevant parts which do appear in GATE-type competitive exams. Two internal exams are a must and one-semester exam is a must in each month. The level of the exam is moderate and the previous year's questions helps a lot.
Internships Opportunities
In the course, the college demands every student in the 3rd semester and 5th semesters. And in the 8th semester students do projects and internships with some monetary benefits also. Students make good projects mainly the automobile, mechanical, and electrical branches.
Placement Experience
From the 6th semester, the students are eligible for campus placement. Each branch is getting good companies not great packages but an average package of 3lakh. Tata Power and Adani groups are providing campus for a package of 6.5 lakh per annum. Most students are placed in IT companies and core interests are getting in core companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure includes tuition fees of 12000 development fees university fees and training and placement fees. The total fee is around 50000. But if you are in the tfw category, then the fees are reduced to 19000 Approximately.
Campus Life
The college is conducting many activities and festivals. Exuberance is a college cultural fest that is conducted by the collaboration of each club namely Writeria, shadow, Kalakar, etc. of the college and Robomania is the technical fest which is conducted by the Robotics Society of the college. These festivals are probably conducted in the January month. There is a Central library students spend their focus period in the Library. The classrooms are way spacious and each classroom has a blackboard and smart board for easy visualization. The campus ground is huge and the sports clubs are active too.
Hostel Facilities
The room provide are clean and spacious. Two or three wards are allotted for one room. There are 3 boys hostels and 2 girls hostels are in the college campus. The freshers are allotted to different hostels for a ragging-free environment. The locality in a radius of 500 meters has rented a house or PG.
Admission
As this is an engineering course, one needs to give JEE or OJEE for Odisha government colleges. I have a 307400 rank in JEE. Then did my counseling in OJEE, which is a 3-step process, and joined the Electronic and telecommunication branch at Parala Maharaja Engineering College in 2022. This year, the cutoff for ETC was around 4 lakh in JEE entrance exam.
