Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I have a lot of interest in learning developments in the technology field and another reason is of course the rising job opportunities for software engineers. The faculty-student ratio is nearly 1:4 Most of the faculties have done MTech from renowned institutions and some are Phd holders while some are still doing research in top-notch fields. Generally, exams are conducted every 6 months but due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the education system was severely affected, the exams are conducted every 3 months.
Placement Experience
Students are generally eligible from the 6th semester but get opportunities from only a few companies. Companies visited are TCS, Cognizant, Tata, Apmosys etc. The highest on-campus package offered till now is 9 lakhs per annum while the lowest offered is 2 lakhs per annum. Placement percentage is nearly 50%. I am planning to apply for interviews in any software company and get placed in any software company as a software engineer.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite good. At least affordable for the middle class as well as for poor families too. I got the Medhabruti scholarship last year offered by the government of Odisha every year to meritorious students whose family income is less than 2.5 lakhs. It is a guaranteed scholarship offered to more than 10,000 students every year. The college provides placements with an average package of 3 to 4 lakhs per annum. Many students get placed in the on-campus placements while many others try for off campus.
Campus Life
Our college recently conducted the annual fest called "Exuberence 2k23" in the month of May. It was a three-day college festival in which a lot of cultural events happened with Bollywood celebrities entertaining the college at night. Tech fest was also conducted called "Robomania" in which students showed extraordinary skills with their handmade robots and students from other colleges also came to participate in our college. Prize money worth rupees Rs10000 was also awarded to the winners. The library is very good as it has a collection of books semester-wise as well as branch-wise. Classrooms are average as it becomes difficult to study especially during summers. Most of the classrooms are not well maintained and unhygienic. A sports fest called Shaurya and Arena was organised in our college in the month of January. Many student-run clubs are there in our college like Cadence, Robotics, Shadows, kalakaar, writera, Heritage etc.
Admission
The eligibility of the course was- More than 75% in 10th and 12th The cutoff was less than 300000 The application form was available on the official website of our college. The application fee was 68000. Didn't get any reservation benefits as I an from the general category. The admission process was not in an ordered manner. They made us wait for more than 8 hours at a stretch. They took a lot of time for the document verification of a single student.
