- Academics : It is a lot of burden to maintain a good cg for 4 years. Hope this cg system improves
- Fees: The fee is twice as much as a government college would charge. So it's better to be good in college and exploit all opportunities.
- Placements : The placements are good but it highly competitive and if lag behind in something which other person know you end up getting nothing.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum is a bit hard initially but as we get used to it we are able to manage it. Subjects and courses increase year-wise and may vary as per our electives. The faculty members are cooperative and teach us well.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are done on campus by companies. Students have to showcase their skills so as to get selected for a project under a company. They have to stand apart from others to get a very good stipend via internships and off-campus internships depend on connections and person-to-person.
Placement Experience
Placement offers are good for good students and internships are provided on campus in the third year and students can go for startup as well. We need to maintain a good cg of 8 or above and do internships to get good placements. Highest package: 42 LPA, Avg package: 12 for tech and 10 for core branches.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course fee for Btech is about - 27 lakhs. We have various scholarships for girls only and all. Merit cum means based on your academic performance is provided to you as per your cg. On-campus placements are good for good students and internships are received for those with very good knowledge and connections.
Campus Life
Campus life is good and chill. The infrastructure is nice. There are around 50 clubs at Thapar. The sports facilities are good. Classrooms are nice full air conditioned and well maintained. Pratigya is a society for students and social welfare. Do contribute to it by joining it.
Admission
The admission process is through jee mains basis and 10+2 based with 50% seats reserved for Punjab State students. The application Form is simple to fill out and is available on the website. Cut-off for round 1jee based on General Outside Punjab Students varying from 91.7 to 98 and for General Punjab State students cutoff varies from 80 to 97.3 Cuts of various rounds are available on the website.
