Course Curriculum Overview
I chose chemical engineering because it is a free branch and provides enough time for me to pursue my hobbies and upskill myself. The faculty-to-student ratio is good here about 1 Phd Faculty per subject per 25-30 students. Here the students are divided into 20 groups. 10 groups have the same 4 subjects and the other 10 groups have the same subjects. The class size in lectures is about 300+ students, for which there is a senior, experienced faculty provided for each subject. The mid-sem exams are not that hard but still, you have to work hard to score above average marks in class.
Placement Experience
This is one of the best parts of college. We have placements at par with the 1st generation IITs and even higher in certain branches. And also there are ample opportunities for internships both domestically and internationally.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is balanced but still higher than old IITs. Since the campus offers only a fully residential program for the BTech courses the overall fees seem a bit high. There are different scholarships such as on the basis of the annual income of your parents if it's below 1 Lakh, the tuition fee for you is zero, if between 1 to 5 Lakh 33% of the tuition fee, no scholarship for more than 5 Lakh annual income. Different scholarships and financial aid are provided by different institutions such as Aspire Scholarship, Reliance Foundation Scholarship, etc.
Campus Life
It is just that you have to manage the academics with the fests and clubs (if you are a member of one). There are a lot of clubs such as NJACK (the CSE club), Moodboard, TedX, Arya (The music club), HOOT (oratory club), Syahhi (the literary club), Yavanika (the drama club), and many more. These clubs provide ample volunteering opportunities too. The clubs are usually very active. There are various fests such as CELESTA (The tech fest), Anwesha (cultural fest), Infinito (sports fest) and many more. The fest is fun to join and provides a spectacular show for the spectators. There are various gatherings too such as in Ganesh Chaturthi and other festivals.
Admission
The entry requirement for enrolling in any Btech course is clearing the JEE Advanced with a good rank of <15k. After that, you have to apply for the JOSSA counseling, in which you will get around 700+ options to fill your choices. As per your choices, you will be allotted a seat. Based on your category OBC, SC, ST, PWD, EWS, etc. you will get a category rank that you can use to avail the reservation seat benefits. All the application and college allotment process is online and you have to keep visiting the site for any recent updates.
