Likes

Every students get quite good opportunities which is not possible in 1 g iits
Faculty to student ratio is quite good in the college
Seniors are quite good here and ragging is close to no here

Dislikes

Lack of sports facilities in the college
Small campus is quite a big con for our college
Citylife is one thing which we lacking of since college is in outskirts of jammu

Course Curriculum Overview

I got interested in mechanical engineering. The faculty-student ratio is quite better. All the faculty are quite qualified. The teaching method is of typical iit one. But still one can understand the teaching method by focussing in class.

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The highest stipend given last year was 2 lakh per month which is quite good and internship opportunities are quite good here. due to the competitive culture, every student tries for internships companies like Amazon Sprinklet come for internships. Team management and good coding are the things one can do to get internships.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible after the 7th semester for placements. Last year placements were quite good Various companies like Graviton, qualcomm, microsoft, and intel came for the placements highest package was 54 lac and min was 6 lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are high for middle-class people but still seeing the fees of other private colleges it is quite better comparably. Scholarships are given to children with less than 4.5 lakh family income in which tuition fees is relaxed.

Campus Life

An annual festival is conducted every year which is named renao it is conducted in the month of April. Books are quite easily available in the library. Sports facilities are the thing which one can think of getting a lack off as we have only an open badminton court and the cricket court is less than the official size.

Admission

The admission process was through Jossa. To participate in Jossa one has to appear in the jee mains exam. After clearing jee mains one can give jee advanced. And after securing a good enough rank in jee advanced one can get a seat in iit.

The review

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

From the starting of 4th year ,we are eligible to sit in the placement and the ratio is almost 65-70 percent percentage head and for it and cse - increff, microsoft ,make my trip ,paypal ,and visa and for civil - L&T and many sales company

My point of view on NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester we become eligible for placements and sit for on campus interviews . In mechanical ONGC , IOCL ,JSW , physics wallah , vedanta and for cse and IT there are companies like paypal , microsoft (internship) , increff etc come for on campus placement.

A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google microsoft facebook vedanta have visited and offered an average package of around 10 lpa. Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

i got this college based on my jee advanced rank , i applied for some better iits but my rank was not upto it . i got 3778 obc rank which got me electrical branch in iit jammu. i also got 5431 obc rank in jee mains that was giving me chance to get cs in lower iits or electrical type branch in nit kurukshetra or other iiits , but i chose iit over iiits and nits beacuse of branch name ....Read More

Jammu is the heaven so is this iit for your better future

For me cleanliness, environment and healthy life is very important and also I got a seat on iit on my first attempt so I had taken this course and currently I am graduated and doing perfectly fine and not regretting my decision. Also my rank was not very good that's why I got rejected from other old iits I applied for. I applied in all old iits and also to nits and to some IIITs too. Admission process to get into these prestigious college is only through JEE advanced exam which is very hard but with determination, perseverance and hard work you can definitely get into good college....Read More
