IIT PATNA blazing gem in 2nd gen IITs

I have picked up electronics and electrical engineering because of my personal interest in the subject mainly electrostatics and electrodynamics and modern physics and semiconductors. The faculty-student ratio is good here, it's like 142 faculty members over 2200 students. All professors are highly qualified from top institutes all over the world like IITs and foreign universities. Exams occur once in two months. If one can score under 10000 rank in jee advanced then he can easily pass the exam just by studying 2 days before the exam.

IIT Patna provides paid internships to 30- 40 percent of students each year. most of the interships start from the start of the third year, where a lot of companies provide paid interships and also give pre placements offers like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and Meta.

Placements provided by our company are very it's one of the best among the second-gen IITs. 7th semester students with above 6 cgpa are eligible for campus placements. The average package provided by companies this year was 23.9 lakh per annum. Big tech giants like Google,microsoft, adobe, Meta, and Samsung, and other big companies like Amazon, and Mercedez, hft's also started hiring students. The highest package offered was 1.37 crore per annum by Google London in 2022, in 2023 the highest package was reported to be 82 lakhs(placement is still going on). 100% of students got placed in 2022. However, 83.05% of students got placed in 2023 (placement still going on). I will participate in college placements.

The fees of an IIT are obviously lower than any private college in india but it's quite higher than NITs, but this can be justified as there are way more facilities than other colleges. The tution fees are 100,000 per semester and the total fees including other things like mess fees etc are 1320000 in 4 years according to 2023 data. The 100% tution fee waiver is also available for so-called disadvantaged castes like SC/ST and a 66% tution fee waiver is available for the obc category. and 100% fee waiver for the general ews category. However, no fee waiver for the general category. Students can also apply for other scholarships if they are eligible for it.

Campus life is incredibly good. There are lots of clubs and most of them have their own fest. There are 4 annual fests namely nebula(freshers party where the first introduction to seniors takes place and first-year students also participate in different activities, next is infinito ( sports fest where students from different IITs like IIT Kharagpur and IIT BHU, etc., and nearby NITs and AIIMS comes to IIT Patna, next is Anwesha (cultural fest where students from all over india perform cultural activities in IIT Patna, next is celesta (tech event where top India's coders come together and compete). All books are available over the internet (free) and hardcopies are also available in the IIT Patna library. classrooms have A C and new. The infrastructure is mostly new. All sorts of sports facilities are provided by IIT Patna itself, they have seperate grounds for each sport.

The hostel rooms given to us are good as the hostel rooms are new .washrooms are well maintained, there is no AC in the room but it's not even required. The only problem is that there are a lesser number of washing machines per student. For example- CV Raman (freshers hostel for 2023 students has only 8 washing machines for over 500 students. The mess food has good quality and also the quantity they provide is also good. registration process for a hostel is quite simple and affordable.

The admission process was quite smooth with several eligibility criteria like class 10th and class 12th with at least 75% aggregate marks or being in the top 20 percentile of any state board. To qualify for the jee mains examination, qualify to jee advanced with the rank of at least 15000 general category. You can find further application form on nta.ac.in.
