Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen the mechanical engineering course at IIT Guwahati because it is the best bench of IIT Guwahati, moreover, the package and placements of the mechanical branch in IIT Guwahati are better than other IITs. The faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:10 over the course duration of 4 years. Teaching assistants and mentors are also allotted to students for individual interactions and doubts solving. In one semester there are 2-3 quizzes, one midsem and one endsem. Practicals and tutorial classes are also in the curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
College gives a lot of internship opportunities. We are taught in such a way that we get the best internship opportunities for being industry-ready. Also provides international internships with very high stipends.
Placement Experience
Have a lot of expectations with placements. The reality is that the college makes sure everyone is placed at a big company with a lucrative package. The college conducts various programs to prepare us for placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are less and value for money when compared to other engineering colleges in the country. The fees are semester and include the hostel and mess charges. Fees are very fair according to the facilities provided to the students. Scholarships are also available to students who belong to the EWS category. Some waivers are offered to those whose family income is less than 5 lakhs.
Campus Life
The clubs are really interesting. They fascinate me a lot. The infrastructure is good and has a lot of facilities. The library is full of good and course-related books. A lot of sports are available for the overall development of a child.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are nice. They have a lot of necessary facilities. They have a washing machine, a pantry, and a canteen. Also the mess food a tolerable. The food is hygienic. The registration is done on the spot.
Admission
The admission is through JEE MAINS followed by JEE ADVANCED examination. The Student has to appear in class 12 in the year of taking the examination or should have passed class 12 within the same year. The applications are released in the months of December and March for jee mains and in April for jee advanced. No reservations are available for general category students. Supernumerary seats are reserved for female students.
