Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very tough and the faculties are good. All the faculties are helpful. We have 4 exams in one semester and in some subjects, 6 exams are also in one semester. Exams are quite difficult. The first semester is tougher and you have to be prepared when you come, don't come with the mindset of having fun only and study just one night before the exam. This doesn't work in 1st semester.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities available at IIT Guwahati. If any student have skill then they easily get internship opportunities in 2nd and 3rd year. Companies like Google, and Microsoft give the opportunities.
Placement Experience
Campus placement is very good here. Many big tech and finance companies visit here and offer packages of crores. Students start getting internship opportunities from 2nd year onwards and get PPOs at the end of 3rd year.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the first semester 1lakh 52 thousand in total, and you have to pay and total of 11 lakh in 4 years including hostel and mess fees. One has to pay only 1/3 of the total fees if he/she belongs to a family of family income less than 5 lakh per annum and free for sc/st.
Campus Life
Campus life is fun and vibrant. You have a variety of things to try out. It's better if you know some sports or skills. There are so many clubs like technical clubs and cultural clubs. The library is also good, it has plenty of books and a chill place to study.
Hostel Facilities
You get facilities like water coolers, a common bathroom, washing machines, and a study table and u have to share your room with one room partner. Mess food tastes good few weeks then u start missing it. Breakfast is the best thing about mess.
Admission
I was admitted through the JEE Advanced examination. Once you qualify, you have to go through jossa counseling where college is provided according to our jee rank and our college preference. I don't get any reservation benefits. I have to pay 40k in jossa counseling for seat booking.
