Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course cause I have a personal interest in this field, also it's an exclusive course with few number of students. The faculty: students ratio is like 1:4. Also, other department faculty teach in this course. All profs are Ph.D. scholars from renowned Universities like Stanford, and Harvard. There are many quizzes, a mid-term exam, and an end sem.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Microsoft, Google, Flipkart. Offers internships in roles of junior engineer, or programmer with stipends depending on company. Avg around 1 lakh. Research Projects are done under professors. Which helps is someone wants to go for higher studies.
Placement Experience
Placements are done in 4th year. Many companies enter for placements and have individual cut-offs. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Flipkart, ola, etc enter this placement process. The highest package last year was 2.4 cr. And the average package is 21 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placement is around 80% because some student opts for higher studies or other reasons.
Fees and Financial Aid
The course is Btech in IIT Guwahati, and it has a common fee structure. The fee for the course is around 260000. Scholarships are given to the students who get good marks. Placements and internship opportunities are provided by the campus itself. There are lots of loan benefits for IIT students. The placement process is well defined to get a placement best for students.
Campus Life
The annual fest is Alcheringa organised in February-March and the tech fest is Techniche, organized in September. There is a huge central library with a large no. Of books of every genre like research, history, fiction, etc. There are many sports clubs around 17. Like cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, chess,etc Every sports club has professional coaches to guide them. Also many tech clubs, social welfare clubs, NSS, ecell. Many cultural clubs like xpressions deal with drama, Street play, and acting stuff. Cadence is a dance club and Octaves is a music club. All clubs are under student management.
Admission
To apply for this course one must take JEE advanced, qualify and enter for JOSAA counseling, and opt for this course. The application fee changes every year and is informed on the official site. For reservation benefits, the process gives the best choice of course we opt for.
