I chose Mechanical engineering because i am quite interested in cars and machines And this course gives me a chance to explore this field During lectures, the professor-to-student ratio is around 1:250 All the professors have completed PhD in their respective subjects We have both experienced and young enthusiastic professors The teaching method is quite student-friendly and the professors are very open towards any doubts that arise The midterm exams start 1 month into the college while the end sem exams start around 4 months after college starts Students who are just regular to take notes in classes easily pass even if they study a day or two before the exams

We have numerous companies visiting our campus for on-campus placements We get big companies like Google and Amazon and tisco wipro etc The average package of the cse department is the highest among all iits being 41 lakh per year Also, the average package of mechanical engineering is also. quite high being 20 lakhs per year

Students start getting internship offers in the 3rd year We have several companies visiting the campus eg Google Microsoft apple Goldman Sachs Jane Street etc. Nearly all of the students get placed in an on-campus manner Few students decide to pursue a masters in the US I plan to complete a master's degree from the usa in robotics

The fees in every iit are quite affordable being a government college while still maintaining high standards in every aspect with respect to other colleges The fees for academics are around 200000 per year and the hostel and mess fees add up to 100,000 per year which is quite low compared to other colleges Scholarships and financial assistance are provided to sc/st students and also to students who perform exceptionally well in academics

We have several annual fests in all sports, cultural and technical areas. Alcheringa the annual cultural fest of IIT G is the largest fest in northern India and is usually conducted in Feb We have Spirit the annual sports fest and Techniche the annual technical fest conducted in October and November respectively Then we also have inter-hostel cultural technical and sports fests. the classroms are high class equipped with ACs and projectors and good seating arrangements We have cricket football hockey volleyball badminton basketball lawn tennis table tennis swimming chess billiards carrom and all kinds of athletics being played on campus with each sport having a world-class ground/courts We have numerous clubs run by the students gymkhana which involves dance club cadence music club octaves Aeromodelling racing e cell 4i labs photography club montage and all sports clubs available

To be eligible one must secure an aggregate 75 per cent in his or her respective 12th boards After that one must acquire a good jee advanced rank Preferably around 4-5k rank to get a good brunch The application form is available on the Jee advanced website The link is available below https://jeeadv.ac.in/ The application fees are around 3000 The application form usually is released shortly after the announcement of jee main result I am a general candidate and did not avail of any reservation benefit The admission process is perfectly balanced and accurate A change that I would like to see is the checking of important documents must be done after the confirmation of the seat Also, proper guidelines should be mentioned for a candidate who wishes to change his category of the reservation during the admission process Otherwise, the registration, conductance of the exam and also the admission process was quite smooth and as such I have no big complaints
