First three months at IITG

I was interested in building things and learning about how ancient structures were built. And IIT environment is very good , you learn and explore anything beyond your group or branch Faculty student ratio is around 1:8 Faculty members are very much experienced in their field of teaching and they are very much qualified for that job , As you know iit guwahati is no.7 in nirf ranking , you cannot judge its faculty Some subject Exams were pretty much upto iit standards ( i mean tough) like maths , physics etc.., And some easy like chemistry as our college follow relative grading it depends on professor who will decide the pass marks and grading, Passing was not hard I would say 8cpi is a good grade

over 80 companies from various sectors participated in the recruitment process. The total no. of students registered for campus internships in the year 2022-23 is 1454 Over 509 are offered internship 69.1% increase in internship offered than last year Maximum of 750000 is stipend for btech intership offer And 121000 for Mtech 150000 for Bdes 110000 for Mdes 80000 for M.Sc 20000 for MBA etc...

My college placements are very good IIT Guwahati has an avg package of 21 lakh per annum in the year 2023 Placements are held in 7th sem max There is a cpi cap for some companies Amazon , Goldman Sachs, Microsoft , IBM,etc.. 639 jobs were offered jobs out of 769 registered from btech and bdes in the year 2023 Highest package is 2.4 crores and Lowest was 5.2 lakh in 2023 Not only software companies , many are hired into non tech profiles such as business analyst, Associate Product Manager, Marketing Manager, Analyst and core profiles like Graduate Engineer Trainee, Post Graduate Trainee, Technical Executive and finance profiles in quant etc... Total placement percentage of 2023(only btech) is 83.09 percent which is amazing considering on going recession My plans after getting degree is going to abroad for Ms in my interested field

Fee structure was different for different category persons Tution fee for general , ews , OBC NCL students was around 1lakh per sem And hostel and mess fee was 52k per sem But there is fee waiver based on your financial situation It categorised into two types 1.oeb - income below 5lakhs - total fee 82k per sem including hostel and mess 2.meb - income below 1 lakh - total fee was 52k per sem i.e, no tution fee only hostel and mess fee need to be paid And SC/ST/PWD students come under meb category There are numerous choices of scholarships which will be provided by private organisations through the college There no information about fee hike in recent times

From 31st August to 3rd September they conducted Techniche which was one of the biggest annual/Tech fest of IIT GUWAHATI. They were big sponsers like Red Bull,Cococola, Monster,Predator, Boat etc. You can find pretty much every book related to your studies and history, religion , etc.. in our library and multiple copies of each books are available, so we don't need to wait for someone to return the book . Coming to novel not every novel is there , there are some famous tiltes like Sherlock homes, Half girlfriend etc.. and there are books for personality development also Classroom are neat and air conditioned and every class room has a projector Coming to sports , many sports fests are held in our college like spardha,and inter IIT and inter hostel competitions Many sports clubs are there, Coming to extracurricular activities, these are our first priority academics comes after these , many club are there like music etc.. I'm staying in Brahmaputra hostel which is biggest hostel in our college Hostel Maintainance is good , there is a student body which was helpful in reaching to authorities quick We get a study table , chair , bed and free lan(we have to buy our own modem though) , wifi ,strength is not very high and not very low it like basic Washing machine are available in hostel facilities but they go to repair very frequently so I'm kinda dissatisfied in that matter Breakfast Is very good But lunch and dinner it's ok not very bad They change menu every month Non veg is served on wed and sun days Vegetarian get paneer those days In every breakfast you get milk/tea,egg/omlet/egg bhurji/corn bhurji/panner bhurji and a fruit, sprouts,etc... Menu is very big this coloum is not enough to write all those Hostel is super affordable it's very cheap You can register from our college website

To get admitted into any IIT , first we need to clear two entrance exams 1.JEE Mains 2.JEE Advanced To write JEE Advanced we need to certain percentile As for 2023 batch the cut off for general ews category is 75.6229025 percentile Jee mains was held two times , best of two will be considered I got around 97 percentile Jee advanced is conducted only once and have two papers morning and evening writing two papers are manditory You can apply for jee mains from nta website My reservation quota is general ews Closing rank for IIT Guwahati varies every year this year it is around 1329 in ews category
