- Placement is very good here almost every one gets placed, even other branches students got placements in IT industry.
- Infrastructure is good here, all classrooms are well built and have modern facilities.
- Faculties are cooperative here also seniors are also very helpful.
Dislikes
- since it is established in 2016, so it is still in developing phase.
- campus is still in developing phase only 35-40 acres are in use from 600 acres.
- 75% attendance is also in this college which i didn't like.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is Mathematics and Computing, so basically this course includes two domains that is maths and CS, it is one of the best combinations even it will boom in coming years because it helps in learning AI/ML which requires higher level mathematics, and also one of the emerging domains. So in IIT JAMMU, there is a 1:11 ratio of faculty and students. So, if you have any doubts you can reach them, also you can get help from a teaching assistant who is doing Mtech or a Ph.D. from IIT Jammu. Faculties are well qualified, they all have done their Ph.D. and also have experience in teaching. Some faculties also teach in old IITs.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies visit our college for internships like Amazon, Accenture, sprinkler, Paytm, and many more, also 2 lakhs/month's highest stipend was offered to a student. IIT Jammu was awarded the prestigious Master Research Award for Geotechnical Research Practices (grip).
Placement Experience
So coming to placements, you will be eligible for an internship in the third year, and for placements, it is 4th year, placements and internship process starts in September only. Placement is very good here, last year ie 2022-23 the highest package was 53 lpa, avg was 18 lpa, lowest was 5 lpa, also 85% of students got placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our tuition fee is 1lakhs/semester which is common in all IITs. Other fees which include mess, hostel, and other extra stuff are approx 50k/semester. Many scholarships are also provided for weaker sections and also for meritorious students.
Campus Life
We have one tech ie TECHNUCTUS and one cultural fest ie RENAO happens in a year. Also, we have one sports fest ie PRAVAAH happens a year, and monthly some events also take place. We have one central library from where you can get books. Our classroom has also well and modern equipment. All types of sports are played in this college, coaches are also provided for these sports. There are many clubs which are run by students we have one NSS group called KRITASH, there are many social media of this college that are run by students only.
Hostel Facilities
So for 1st and 2nd year students there is double sharing which is well built, for 3rd and 4th-year students there is a single occupancy AC room. coming to meals, so basically the taste of meals is decent and menus are also good, menus are decided by the student's committee only.
Admission
Eligibility of the course was that first of all, you should be from a science(PCM) background, second thing was that you should score a minimum of 75% in the 12th board. To get this course you will be required to qualify for JEE ADVANCED and to appear in this exam you will also be required to score a minimum cutoff in JEE MAINS. Application forms came on their respective official website, so you will be required to check the website from time to time also you can get notified by your educator or from several YouTube channels. Now coming to reservation policy, there is 27% of seats which is reserved for the OBC NCL category, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 10% for General EWS candidate.
