Our campus is very well maintained and it is called most beautiful IIT

Course Curriculum Overview

I have interest in see how things are build so I took civil engineering The faculty student ratio is 1:8 The faculty are very well qualified for their job and every professor hold a PhD and there study background is very strong, as expected you cannot judge the professor of the 7th ranked college in India You cannot expect the exams to be easy The exams are upto IIT standards Some subjects were easy to score It was not that hard to pass as it was relative grading

Internships Opportunities

Over 80 companies from various sectors have participated in the recruitment process. A total of 509 students have been offered internships in the year 2023 An increase in 69.1% in internship offers compared to previous year Maximum stipend of 7.5 lakhs have been offered to btech studenta , 1.5 lakh to bdes , 1.21 lakh for mtech etc...

Placement Experience

Our college has one of the best placement record in India From 7th semester you can apply for placements and there is cpi cap for attending some interviews The highest package in the year 2023 is 2.4 crores and lowest was 5.2 lakh Avg package is around 21.15 lakh which was amazing As expected of a teir 1 college Many tech gaints like Amazon, IBM , Microsoft etc visited for recruitment Around 639 jobs were offered Many different roles and profiles were offered in these placement recruitments like Software Development Engineer, Member Technical Staff, Design , R&D, Developers, Data Science,Business Analyst, Associate Product Manager, Marketing Manager, Analyst,Graduate Engineer Trainee, Post Graduate Trainee, Technical Executive etc... Overall 83.09% of btech and bdes students were placed in 2023 I want to do MBA in any IIM

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is different for different categories: 1.Firstly for all general, OBC , ews student have 1lakh tution fee and 52k hostel fee per sem 2.Sc/St student don't have tution fee and they have to pay 32k per sem There are scholarships for students whose financial situation is not good they are divided into two categories 1.OEB - whose income is less than 5 lakhs - 50%. Tution fee waiver 2.MEB- whose income is less than 1 lakh - 100% Tution fee waiver And there are many different scholarships programs

Campus Life

The college life was very good and there are many fests From August 31st to September 3rd techniche was held which was one of the largest tech and cultural fest , there were very big sponsors like Redbull , Monster,Bingo,Cococola, Predator, etc... There are many different books in library and each book is available in multiple copies so students don't have to wait for books to be returned All classrooms were air conditioned and digital There several personality development books , history and business related books also There are many sports and extracurricular clubs . Many sports tournaments are held in our college like inter hostel , inter IIT , spardha etc .. and there clubs like music , dancing etc.. and technical clubs like coding club etc.. Hostel Facilities

The hostel maintenance is very good I'm currently staying in umiam hostel Hostel provided me a study table,chair, free wifi lan The food is not bad Breakfast was nice , lunch and dinner are not so good , they should improve the menu Every Sunday and Wednesday non veg is served , friday egg is served You can register for hostel through college website and hostel is very affordable The only problem I face with my hostel is washing machine are frequently damaged

Admission

To join in any IIT you to write two exams 1.JEE MAINS 2.JEE ADVANCED To write jee advanced first you to clear jee mains The clearing marks varies every year In 2023 the cut off for jee mains for OBC-NCL category is 73.61 percentile You can apply for these exams through Nta website , application fee and dates will be released on this website it self I got into IIT Guwahati civil engineering The cut off for OBC-NCL category is : 3376

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

5 or 6 semester onwards students are eligible for internships in off campus . They can opt for PPO. There are severe companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, and some top MNCs . overall campus is perfect to spend 4 years

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I chose IIT Guwahati because of a strong IIT brand , excellent placements and comparetively lower fees. Compare to other IIT's it provied good campus expreience and less academic pressure. Compare to other NIT's , private colleges ,IIT Guwahati stands out in every fields. If one coudn't make it too higher IIT's it's because of not elegible after the JEE advanced rank as competition is very intense. Detailed and Unbiased Review

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level. Admission Process: Involves early payments of fees before arrival to the Campus.
