A Trial Track before Starting journey into NITC...

The course curriculum and faculty members is good. NIT Calicut is a first college to change its curriculum. As we know to reduce the stress of the students the internal sliding of branch is been removed so that students can focus only on their core branch not on the other branch. From the first semester itself the core syllabus is been started. Per 50 students two faculty advisors and one professor is been appointed for each subject. Exam levels are moderate to difficult. A sequence of 3 tests will be there before mid sem and end sem for each subject.

College provides many internship opportunities to the students as many as possible. Many companies which visit for the campus placements provides internship opportunities to the eligible students. A good stipend is being paid to the eligible students. We have three major projects in the 7,8 semesters .

As the college changed its course plan students become eligible after completing the second year course that is 4th semester to the campus placements. Companies visited like Microsoft ,Google, Infosys ,Tata, cognizant, ongc and many more . Around 90% students get placed in the campus interviews and the rest students go for higher studies. I wanted to go to software field after completing my graduation.

Being a St Category student I will explain about St category student fee structure. Around 1 lakh 7000 we need to pay at the time of admission for the first semester it includes the hostel fees the course fees and the maintenance charges also. Many scholarships are being provided to the students. We get scholarship like from government that is NSP and Reliance scholarship ,Medhavi engineering scholarship and many banks provide loans to the students at a very low interest rate. 90% students get internships with a good stipend.

We we have a annual fest ragam and a tech fest that is Tathva. Ragam is conducted in the month of March and that's why is being conducted between December and January. Students actively participate in the techfest. Classrooms are fully digital classrooms and around a 120 students can easily sit in a classroom. Campus provides many sports activities to the students like NCC ,volleyball basketball ,cricket ,swimming, Kabaddi, kho kho, etc. We have home team groups which participate in the different competitions in the inter NITS. Library is full of many journals,story books, and e - books and course books with highest number of copies.

Hostel facility is good here. We get quadruple occupancy in the first year and then we can converted to double occupancy in the 2nd year. The menu is good and very neat . Rooms are facilitated with cupboards,bed and a desk for study. Registration Process is smooth and and handy for students.

The admission process was very smooth and systematic.I wrote JEE MAINS and I secured 1298 rank in the ST category and 117432 rank in general.I secured seat in Mechanical engineering department at Nit Calicut using the Josaa counselling.By filling the college priority order we can get the NIT Calicut. My priority order was good enough to get NIT Calicut in the first round itself. I availed ST reservation benefit.
