Course Curriculum Overview

4

I Choose statistics as a subject because I always wanted to be a data scientist and data is the core of everything I had keen intrest in numbers form early age and I always loved learning about them. The Faculty members ratio is 20 to 200 I think it's sufficient because every subject has a dedicated lecturer and lab technicians are always available. Faculty members are well qualified every single one has a PhD and they have very deep knowledge of the topics , some members find it difficult to teach but it's fine the ratio of that is too small , theoretical portion is covered in the classes and the practical sections are well teached in the labs. The term exams are twice a year and I will say that they are quite hard they test your knowledge from the bottom to top , but as exams are hard the cheking and marking schemes are well balanced so students can score high marks.

Internships Opportunities

2

There are not a lot apportunites available but we can apply outside from our experience and the teachers reffrals also work a lot here so be a good student and the teacher may bless you with a quite good internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of institute of science is 3000 rs per year which is very low as compared to other colleges and there are many scholarship and internship programs for everyone. There is no campus placement. Scholarship can be availed after 12th ranging from 3000- 60000 per semester for example INSPIRE scholarship and HDFC ones are mainstream.

Campus Life

3.5

There are not many clubs but the few amounts of them cover for all. NSS LACF are the main clubs here and everything under them they provide enough opportunities for anyone to socialize and enjoy the college life , Campus has audiotorium a huge Library and a cricket stadium size playground for every sport . The canteen is really nice and provide lunch and dinners and snacks. Basketball ground is quite old now but it's still playable. The annual fest is named UMANG and it's conducted between Feb to March it is mainly of 3 days , traditional day bolliwood day and in the end it's the dances and dj night. Classrooms have cameras and benches are huge like the muuna bhai mbbs college.

Admission

Our college exam uses the centralised admission process , the process involves admission on the basis of 12th board percentage and there is different cutoff for every subject , the lowest cutoff ie 60 Percent is for PCM(Physics Chem Maths) and highest is for Scom( Statistics and computer science) which is 89 percent and other subjects have different cutoffs depending upon the availability of seats. The application form can be found on the college website and takes 300 or 400 rs for the process. Anybody after 12th can apply for the course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
