Course Curriculum Overview

4

Being a doctor is a noble profession and it's difficult also I like it. Students for every batch are 150 in number. The faculty depends on the year of the batch and also the number of pgs admitted professors appointed and tutors appointed. For the first year, the ratio is 16:150 The qualification of all the professors is MBBS with md or MS in their field along with some other specialisations if present. The PGs have done mbbs and are currently doing MD or ms they are like 1 or 2 in number per department. The tutors are MSc grads. The rate of the exams conducted was around 1 to 2 every month which involved part completion tests, internal exams and practical tests. The difficulty level to pass the exam is between moderate and difficult.

Internships Opportunities

5

I'm in medical college with a teaching hospital and a new hospital is being built. We have 1-year internship after the final year in the hospitals and other wards. The stipend for now is 30k per month. I'm in 1st year and how to rate it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Studying Mbbs in private institutions costs 5 lakh per annum for govt seats and 25 lakhs per annum for private seats. Whereas in government colleges like ours, it is around 70 k rs per annum. I have a legit completely legal caste certificate hence I can't get any scholarships or financial assistance. Some students have faked their caste and income to get lakhs of scholarships.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many fests conducted like - sports fest - annual fest - Ganesh Utsav fest - traditional day - white coat ceremony and many more... The months in which they are conducted are not fixed and can vary greatly. Many well-known standard books and international journals are available in the library. Naming them needs a lot of space. The lecture hall has a projector, a screen, a desktop pc, 36 desks and benches with 4 seating capacities. The sports activities are kinda less because of a very small playground but we can play by changing nets and courts. The games played are many like volley, throw, table tennis, kabaddi, badminton excetra. There are music clubs, kannada clubs and many.

Hostel Facilities

3

The room will be 3 sharing. Your amenities will be a table a chair a bed and a place in a cupboard. Meal quality is kinda changing right now because we are starting a student mess so will update you on that later. But you know the hostel is a hostel not like your home Registration is by an affidavit and some money that's it. It's very affordable. The Karwar place is very good with calm people. One more thing the beach is within 1km of campus

Admission

MBBS course takes eligibility via a national level exam called neet. The cutoff for my college was all India rank 52000. The application form for the college is provided by the state government of Karnataka for state quota students which is 85 percent. Remaining India quota students take part in mcc national-level counselling. The application fees depend on the quota and reservation categories. I had no reservations so to write the exam I gave 1600 rs. To take part in state counselling it was 500 rs. For me going through the state quota, the info came on the kea official website for neet counselling. People with caste certificate which shows low income and their caste will get benefits based on the caste.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
