Course Curriculum Overview
I have to take CSE which is the best course in the college. This is a course with an average package of 20 LPA. My department has a total of 204 students divided into 4 sections of 51 each. For each of the section, there are different faculties. Coming to faculties, all are phds.In each semester we have mid-sem and end-sem. And to be very true, the exams are generally hard.
Internships Opportunities
There are several internship opportunities in NIT Calicut which even include some foreign internships. They include Amazon, American Express, Samsung, Microsoft and many more. NITC has the highest no. of patents.
Placement Experience
The placement record of NIT Calicut is very good. Students are eligible to sit for placement after the 6th semester. Several companies around 200 come to our campus including major tech giants like Google, Qualcomm, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Marvel, etc. The highest package for 2023 is around 50 LPA, last year the highest pac6was around 67 LPA. This year more than 1000+ students got placed. After getting a degree in CSE, I would like to join Google.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a top NIT, the fee is low around 8 lakhs for the general category for BTech. If you belong to SC/ST you get a full fee waiver on tuition fees. There are several scholarships available for students including some alumni-funded scholarships and many more.
Campus Life
NIT Calicut has the largest cultural fest with the name "Ragam" in the whole South India. It is generally held in March. Apart from this we also have a technical fest called "Tathva". The campus is very lush green. We have a Central library which is open 24x7 and contains each and every book of anyone's interest. There is a student amenities center from students can get things for daily use. We have each and every sport in the college. Our college participates in all Inter Nit tournaments. This year we won the handball tournament. There the several social groups and clubs in the college. We have NCC and NSS, several technical clubs like AI club, Robotics club, and many more.
Hostel Facilities
For the first years, there are rooms with 4 people. Though the rooms are built to accumulate 3 people they put 4 in each. There are night curfews to safeguard the students for the first year only. Registration for a hostel is very easy and simple. We have a separate Hostel office.
Admission
NIT Calicut is one of the top NITs in the country. It takes admission based on the JEE score. Generally, you would need 99.99 percentile in jee to get CSE in Nit Calicut if your category is general. If you belong to any of SC/ST it is quite easy for you to get into the college and into the top branch. It would be good if take admission on an equal basis.
