Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is somewhat satisfactory. I have choosen this course as i have to prepare for civil services examination so this course help in that preparation. Overall faculty to Students ratio is 1:45 and that's good. Faculty in my college is good and my department of political science is one of the best department in my college as most students comes in after high cutoff. The faculty are very well qualified mostly PhD holders and some are even researchers. Their teaching style is also good and they always engage with us students so that we can grasp hard topics easily. Our term exams were mainly on time and difficulty level is just average. If one has studied well enough he will pass it easily although we needed to write too much in our exams.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship opportunities is very good in our college. We have a society named The placement cell which gives many opportunities for internship in various companies. They organise various seminar for placement and internship where various companies comes to hire .

Placement Experience

4

Placement of our college is quite good and many courses like B.com and B.A. economics get their on campus placement during Placement fest. One can get Placement usually in their final year from 5th semester and many companies visit during fest for placement like. TATA, Zomato etc. Highest package last year was around 18 lacs and on average 7 to 8 lacs annual package. Around 70 % students from respective courses get their placements. My plan after getting degree is to opt for UPSC Civil services examination.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is moderate and my course political science hons annual fees is currently 16000 and it was hiked from 14000 last year. So Cost to study in this college is not that much. Also there are several scholarship program that one can apply i.e. National scholarship, Fees Refund and through these even submitted fees amount get refunded so study cost reduced significantly. I haven't applied for any job as I was focused on CSE preparation but one can easily get part time jobs with good stipend in internship program.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at compus is just amazing and our campus has it's own vibes that all enjoy. We had annual fest named - Nexus that usually happens in Feb and it's a large fest that go on around 4 days and famous singers perform there. Our library is also very good and it have almost all the books of course and extra too and it also has study area where one can study peacefully. Our Department class is best in this college and it had all the amenities like projector and even greenery in class. Sports is very famous of college as our cricket ground is largest in DU and even Indian player Rishab Pant graduated from our college so that's a proud plus point. We also have basketball, tennis and Badminton court. And our college organises all the other extra curricular activities time to time. There are too many social groups and club runs by students i.e. Debating society, Dance society, Darama society and many more. We have club like Happy club and etc.

Admission

Admission process for this college was quite smooth. First, as this college comes under University of Delhi so for admission from 2022, DU conduct CUET entrance exam. Eligibility for this, we had to select 3 domain subject (which we had studied in 12th) and one language mandatory. We need to fill examination form at CUET website and examination fees depends on category i.e. OBC students had to give 1200 in 2022. Then examination conducted after 2 month and Result get declared. I have availed reservation benifits too (OBC-NCL). It's quite easy to avail this, as we just need to submit OBC NCL certificate during filling of examination form. Few improvement I want to see in due process of examination is first, exam should be conducted on time and server down problem that happens on online centre needed to be fixed.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
