Sophomore Experience at NIT SILCHAR.

I chose BTech in ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION Engineering as per my interests in Software field also this branch opens route to both software and hardware field . Talking about judging about Faculties , I would say the judging will be relative . Some faculties are excellent in terms of teaching but there are also faculties which only comes to complete the syllabus . Faculties claim that they are well experience and PHD holder so... Due to past few years gone the duration of semesters are shorten due to this exams are more frequent. The difficulty level in passing exams I would say is medium, one can easily pass exams by studing for only one week.

Talking about the internship opportunities it varies as per the branch , in campus internship offers are made available for software branches . Students may also opt for Off campus internship . The companies which are available for internships named Wipro, Infosys , Amazon , microsoft etc are there.

The placement is great in NIT SILCHAR .Companies are made available for placements at the end of 6th semester . Companies such as Goldman sacs , Wipro , microsoft , Amazon etc are there for placements. Last year 2022 the highest package was 83 lac given to a CSE student and the average pakage offered is between 11- 19 lac. The percentage of students getting placed is above 75%.

The Fees structure is divided into four categories: 1. Students annual income below 1 lac 2. Between 1 - 5 3. Above 5 lac 4. ST and SC students Tuition fees is free for students below 1 lac and for ST , SC students . For Annual income above 5 lac students , he/ she have to pay almost 90k(approx )per semester ( registration+hostel fees). For between 1-5 lac 55k (approx) per sem For ST ,SC and Students annual income below 1 lac is 20k per sem. Scholarship are made available by the administrative according to the criterias given.

Coming to Campus life is quite good but not great , our annual fest name INCANDESCENCE and Tech fest name Tecnoesis. The Experience of the INCANDESCENCE is fab in , the crowd is just Crazy , previous year 2023 Mohit Chauhan and band Nalayak was welcomed in our campus . Talking about sports , the huge fields are there for football and cricket but the maintenance is not so good . But for indoor games it's best . Talking about Badminton and Table Tennis there is wooden finish courts which couldn't be better than this . Also three extra courts (badminton)are there for amateur players. Talking about library, which our college is famous for , our college have the Asia's biggest library . So every time of books are made available here. Every type of clubs are available name dance , singing , photography, Google, spiritual, etc.

For 1st year boys two hostels are alloted as per the ranks in JEE mains name Aryabhatta and BH3 . And no seniors allowed inside the First year hostel. For 1st year girls there is only one hostel. The food varies as per the mess , but sometimes it is very bad overall I would say the mess food varied according to your hostel and mess. Everyday non-veg and veg will me made available and every Sunday there is GRAND FEAST ( only this day the food is kinda eatable ...good).

For Admission in Btech NIT SILCHAR a 12th pass student must appear for JEE MAINS(Join Entrance Examination). Now as per the cut off and criterias given by JOSSA Counselling , a seat is allocated according to your branch . The Branch allocated may vary according to your choice filling and your Rank as per the JEE MAINS. In NIT Silchar there is type of Quotas - Home State and other State . Also 15 percent of seats are reserved for SC category students and 7.5 percent for ST students . A student can also get into NIT Silchar by appearing in special round of counseling known CSAB.
