Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm pursuing my graduation inB.A. Programme. I'm a UPSC aspirant , and my graduation subjects are helping me with my preparation. I can't tell the exact ratio , but estimate could be 10:235 If we talk about the qualifications of the faculty, they are well equipped with their subjects knowledge. Some professors are really great at teaching and some of them provide good guidance for various perspectives. According to me , DU's semester duration is a little but short but the exam conduction timing is good.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee payment is done on yearly basis. My college's fees (for every course ) was already high. But after first year , there was a fee hike , and it was so shocking like , i paid 19k for my first year (B.A. Programme ), after fee hike , they asked us to pay 26k for a course like B.A. Programme. But we managed and they only deducted 2k. I didn't get into any scholarship financial assistance or job.

Campus Life

3.5

I'm a Off campus student. Still I must say , if you are talking about fun , yes there is a fun in college life at du. Fest season is something, one must not skip to experience the excitement, joy moments of those fest. And especially fest of North Campus colleges and iits , mits etc. But one thing I want to mention about my college is it's infrastructure, it's really good. College had won 2 awards for it. Everykind of book you can get from the Library. Yaa! Sometimes, or you can say at exam time , there is a little shortage of same kinda books. There are many sports , in my college, like fencing, archery, football, volleyball, yoga etc . And for extra curricular activities you can join different cultural societies to discover new skills and interest areas I don't know many , but there is one Instagram account name @du__club which provides each and every information regarding the Delhi University. You can trust that page.

Admission

After the introduction of CUET, the whole admission is online. So everything is easy and feasible at your doorstep. I belong from the batch of 2022. My batch has and is still going through each and every experiment of education system. Students of any stream can opt any course according to their cuet marks and subject eligibility criteria. For example: a science stream student (commerce/science) must give cuet exam with his/her 12th subject, and there will be deduction of only 1% per subject, if they want to change their stream. Yes , there are reservation benefits. There are seats for reservation categories. I found the preference list thingy very complicated. If there is a scope of improvement , i think some changes can make it better.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
