IIT Guwahati (7th rank forever)

I chose Civil Engineering in IIT Guwahati, because of many reasons one of them is I'm not getting anything better in terms of college in top 7 IITs and I doesn't want to look at newer IITs because of their infrastructure and alumni support one another reason is that I qualified jee advanced and I didn't want to spoil my Jee advanced qualified tag by taking admission in Non-IIT college even if I'm getting computer science in top NITs. Faculty to student ratio here is very good, every professor keep their TAs available for students, teaching method of professors are highly advanced and their papers are also on the tougher side but no worries most of them keep relative grading in their subjects.

In terms of internship companies comes in 5th semester and only 30-35 % students gets on-campus placement and average incentives lies between 50k-1Lakhs and highest lies around between 5-6Lakhs. Taking internship is very competitive among students.

Placement in tech-branches is very high, you can see few students from tech get crores of packages, in non-core branches if you opt for tech placements and has a good cpi then there must be a chance you will grab a good package else you have to go with core companies which don't offer good package for freshers but you will have good growth once you get in core industry

Tuition fees is about 1 lakh(reducible if you have reservation or you can show some proof that your parental income lies between 1-5 lakhs where you get 2/3 scholarship on tuition fees and if your parental income is even less than 1 lakh then your tuition fees is completely waived)and hostel fees 33 thousand with no waiver

Regular fests with atleast 3 months gap, one can say you will never feel left out in terms of fests comapred to other colleges, even in our fests atleast one or two famous social media personalities arrive.

In first two years you will get shared room and from third year onwards you will have your own personal room, quality of mess food totally depends on you because if you don't like the food then you have to either complain and give reviews for the scope of improvement.

You have to qualify jee mains and sit in jee advanced exam where you first need to clear the cutoff and then apply for IITs in josaa counselling, then colleges roll out their opening and closing rank based on your category rank, if you rank lie between them, then you can take admission in that college. Make sure to properly prioritize your college and branch and arrange them.
